Verse 1 — Surah An-Naba 78:1
About what are they asking one another
Verse 2 — Surah An-Naba 78:2
About the momentous news
Verse 3 — Surah An-Naba 78:3
the thing about which they differ
Verse 4 — Surah An-Naba 78:4
No indeed! They will soon know
Verse 5 — Surah An-Naba 78:5
Again, no indeed! They will soon know
Verse 6 — Surah An-Naba 78:6
Have We not made the earth a flat carpet
Verse 7 — Surah An-Naba 78:7
and the mountains its pegs
Verse 8 — Surah An-Naba 78:8
We have created you in pairs
Verse 9 — Surah An-Naba 78:9
We made your sleep a break
Verse 10 — Surah An-Naba 78:10
We made the night a cloak
Verse 11 — Surah An-Naba 78:11
We made the day for earning a living
Verse 12 — Surah An-Naba 78:12
We built seven firm layers above you
Verse 13 — Surah An-Naba 78:13
We installed a blazing lamp
Verse 14 — Surah An-Naba 78:14
We sent down cascading water from the clouds
Verse 15 — Surah An-Naba 78:15
so that by it We might bring forth grains and plants
Verse 16 — Surah An-Naba 78:16
and luxuriant gardens
Verse 17 — Surah An-Naba 78:17
The Day of Decision is a fixed appointment
Verse 18 — Surah An-Naba 78:18
the Day the Trumpet is blown and you come in droves
Verse 19 — Surah An-Naba 78:19
and heaven is opened and becomes doorways
Verse 20 — Surah An-Naba 78:20
and the mountains are shifted and become a mirage
Verse 21 — Surah An-Naba 78:21
Hell lies in wait —
Verse 22 — Surah An-Naba 78:22
a homecoming for the profligate
Verse 23 — Surah An-Naba 78:23
remaining in it for countless aeons
Verse 24 — Surah An-Naba 78:24
not tasting any coolness there or any drink
Verse 25 — Surah An-Naba 78:25
except for boiling water and scalding pus —
Verse 26 — Surah An-Naba 78:26
a fitting recompense
Verse 27 — Surah An-Naba 78:27
They did not expect to have a reckoning
Verse 28 — Surah An-Naba 78:28
and utterly denied Our Signs
Verse 29 — Surah An-Naba 78:29
We have recorded all things in writing
Verse 30 — Surah An-Naba 78:30
So taste! We will increase you only in punishment
Verse 31 — Surah An-Naba 78:31
For those who have taqwa there is triumph
Verse 32 — Surah An-Naba 78:32
Gardens and grape vines
Verse 33 — Surah An-Naba 78:33
and nubile maidens of similar age
Verse 34 — Surah An-Naba 78:34
and an overflowing cup
Verse 35 — Surah An-Naba 78:35
where they will hear no prattle and no denial
Verse 36 — Surah An-Naba 78:36
a recompense from your Lord, a commensurate gift
Verse 37 — Surah An-Naba 78:37
Lord of the heavens and earth and everything between them, the All-Merciful. They will not have the power to speak to Him
Verse 38 — Surah An-Naba 78:38
On the Day when the Spirit and the angels stand in ranks, no one will speak, except for him who is authorised by the All-Merciful and says what is right
Verse 39 — Surah An-Naba 78:39
That will be the True Day. So whoever wills should take the way back to his Lord
Verse 40 — Surah An-Naba 78:40
We have warned you of an imminent punishment on the Day when a man will see what he has done, and the kafir will say, ´Oh, if only I were dust!´
