and you shall have a never ending reward

Verse 4 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:4

You are of the highest noble character

Verse 5 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:5

Soon you will see - as they will see

Verse 6 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:6

which of you is afflicted with madness

Verse 7 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:7

Surely it is your Lord Who knows those who have strayed from His Way, as He knows best those who are rightly guided

Verse 8 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:8

So do not yield to the unbelievers

Verse 9 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:9

They desire you to compromise a little, so they too would compromise

Verse 10 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:10

Neither yield to any mean oath-monger

Verse 11 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:11

mischief making slanderer

Verse 12 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:12

opponent of good, transgressor

Verse 13 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:13

wicked oppressor, and above all, ignoble by birth

Verse 14 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:14

though he be possessing wealth and children

Verse 15 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:15

When Our revelations are recited to him , he says: "They are nothing but the tales of the ancients

Verse 16 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:16

Soon We shall brand him on the snout

Verse 17 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:17

Surely We shall try them as We tried the owners of the garden when they swore that they would pluck its fruit the next morning

Verse 18 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:18

without adding any reservation ( such as God willing)

Verse 19 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:19

So a calamity from your Lord came down upon it while they slept

Verse 20 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:20

and by the morning it lay as if it had been already harvested

Verse 21 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:21

At daybreak they called out to one another

Verse 22 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:22

saying: "Go out early to your crop, if you want to pick its fruit

Verse 23 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:23

So they went, whispering to one another

Verse 24 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:24

Let no needy person enter upon you in the garden today

Verse 25 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:25

Thus they went out, fixed in their stingy resolve (not to give any fruit to the poor people, as if they had the full control over harvesting the fruit)

Verse 26 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:26

But when they saw the garden, they cried: "Surely we must have lost our way

Verse 27 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:27

Nay, we have become destitute

Verse 28 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:28

The most upright among them said: "Did I not tell you to glorify Allah? Why did you not glorify Him

Verse 29 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:29

Then they said: "Glory be to our Lord! Surely we were unjust

Verse 30 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:30

and they started blaming one another

Verse 31 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:31

Finally they said: "Woe to us! Surely we had become rebellious

Verse 32 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:32

It may be that our Lord will give us in exchange a better garden than this: surely to our Lord do we make our humble petition

Verse 33 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:33

Such is the punishment in this life; but the punishment in the Hereafter is even greater, if they but knew it

Verse 34 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:34

Surely the righteous will be rewarded with gardens of delight by their Lord

Verse 35 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:35

What do the disbelievers think? Shall We treat the Muslims as We treat the guilty

Verse 36 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:36

What is the matter with you? What kind of Judgment do you make

Verse 37 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:37

Or do you have a Book in which you read

Verse 38 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:38

that you shall be given whatever you choose

Verse 39 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:39

Or do you have a sworn covenant - a covenant binding on Us till the Day of Resurrection - that you shall have whatever you demand

Verse 40 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:40

Ask if any of them will vouch for that

Verse 41 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:41

Or do they have other gods who could help them against Allah? If so, let them produce their other gods if they are truthful

Verse 42 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:42

On the Day of Judgment, when the dreadful events shall be unfolded, and they shall be asked to prostrate themselves, they shall not be able to do so

Verse 43 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:43

They shall stand with eyes downcast, utterly humbled; because during their safe and sound earthly life they were called upon to prostrate themselves but they refused to do so

Verse 44 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:44

O Prophet, leave to Me those who reject this revelation. We shall lead them step by step to their ruin, in ways that they cannot perceive

Verse 45 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:45

I shall even put up with them for a while; for My plan is fool proof

Verse 46 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:46

Or have you, O Prophet, demanded a compensation from them, that they are overburdened with debt

Verse 47 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:47

Or do they have the knowledge of the unseen and they are writing it down

Verse 48 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:48

So wait with patience for the Judgment of your Lord and be not like the man of the fish (reference is to the Prophet Jonah who was swallowed by a whale), who cried when he was in distress

Verse 49 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:49

Had his Lord not bestowed on him His grace, he would certainly have been cast off on the naked shore, while he was condemned

Verse 50 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:50

But his Lord choose him and included him among the righteous

Verse 51 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:51

The unbelievers would almost trip you up with their eyes when they hear Our revelations (The Qur’an), and say: "He (Muhammad) is surely crazy

This (The Qur’an) is nothing but a Reminder to all the people of the world
