Verse 1 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:1
The Haqqah
Verse 2 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:2
What is the Haqqah
Verse 3 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:3
And what will make you understand what the Haqqah is
Verse 4 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:4
The Thamud and the ‘Ad people denied the striking calamity
Verse 5 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:5
As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the Thunderbolt
Verse 6 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:6
As for 'Ad they were destroyed by a furious windstorm
Verse 7 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:7
which He let loose on them for seven nights and eight successive days. Had you been there, you would have seen them lying prostrate as though they were hollow trunks of the palm-trees
Verse 8 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:8
Now, do you see any of them alive
Verse 9 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:9
Pharaoh and those before him, and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities also committed similar sins
Verse 10 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:10
and disobeyed the Messengers of their Lord, so He gripped them with a tight grip
Verse 11 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:11
Just consider the great flood of Noah, when the water rose high, We carried you (O mankind) in the floating Ark
Verse 12 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:12
that We may make that event a warning for you so that all attentive ears may retain its memory
Verse 13 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:13
As for the dooms- day, it shall come, when the Trumpet will be blown with a single blast
Verse 14 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:14
and the earth with all its mountains will be lifted up and crushed into pieces with a single stroke
Verse 15 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:15
On that day the Great Event will come to pass
Verse 16 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:16
heaven shall split asunder, and the day shall seem flimsy
Verse 17 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:17
The angels will stand all around and eight of them will be carrying the Throne of your Lord above them
Verse 18 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:18
That shall be the day when you will be brought before your Lord, and none of your secrets shall remain hidden
Verse 19 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:19
Then he, who will be given his Book of Deeds in his right hand, will say: "Here it is, read my Book of deeds
Verse 20 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:20
I knew that I would certainly face my reckoning
Verse 21 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:21
So he will have a life of pleasure
Verse 22 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:22
in a lofty garden
Verse 23 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:23
with clusters of fruit within his reach
Verse 24 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:24
We shall say to him: "Eat and drink to your heart's content; this is a reward for what you did in the days gone by
Verse 25 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:25
While he, who will be given his Book of Deeds in his left hand, will say: "Woe to me, would that I had not been given my Book of Deeds
Verse 26 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:26
nor known what my account was
Verse 27 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:27
Would that my death had ended all
Verse 28 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:28
My wealth had availed me nothing
Verse 29 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:29
and my authority has gone away from me
Verse 30 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:30
We shall say: "Seize him and put a chain around his neck
Verse 31 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:31
then cast him in the blazing fire
Verse 32 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:32
then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long
Verse 33 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:33
For he did not believe in Allah, the Most High
Verse 34 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:34
nor did he care to feed the poor
Verse 35 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:35
Today he neither has a true friend here
Verse 36 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:36
nor any food except the pus from the washing of wounds
Verse 37 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:37
which none but the wrongdoers eat
Verse 38 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:38
Nay! I swear by all that you can see
Verse 39 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:39
and all that you cannot see
Verse 40 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:40
that this is the word of a noble Messenger
Verse 41 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:41
It is not the word of a poet - little is it that you believe
Verse 42 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:42
nor is it the word of a soothsayer - little admonition is that you take
Verse 43 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:43
This is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds
Verse 44 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:44
Had he (Muhammad) invented false statements concerning Us
Verse 45 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:45
We would certainly have seized him by his right hand
Verse 46 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:46
then cut off his main artery
Verse 47 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:47
and none of you could prevent it
Verse 48 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:48
Surely this Qur’an is a reminder to the Godfearing
Verse 49 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:49
We know that there are some among you who deny it
Verse 50 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:50
and for such disbelievers it is indeed a cause of despair
Verse 51 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:51
Yet surely it is the absolute truth
Verse 52 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:52
So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High
