Verse 1 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:1
The INEVITABLE
Verse 2 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:2
What is the Inevitable
Verse 3 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:3
And who shall make thee comprehend what the Inevitable is
Verse 4 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:4
Themoud and Ad treated the day of Terrors as a lie
Verse 5 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:5
So as to Themoud, they were destroyed by crashing thunder bolts
Verse 6 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:6
And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring and furious blast
Verse 7 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:7
It did the bidding of God against them seven nights and eight days together, during which thou mightest have seen the people laid low, as though they had been the trunks of hollow palms
Verse 8 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:8
And couldst thou have seen one of them surviving
Verse 9 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:9
Pharaoh also, and those who flourished before him, and the overthrown cities, committed sin
Verse 10 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:10
And disobeyed the Sent one of their Lord; therefore did he chastise them with an accumulated chastisement
Verse 11 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:11
When the Flood rose high, we bare you in the Ark
Verse 12 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:12
That we might make that event a warning to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it
Verse 13 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:13
But when one blast shall be blown on the trumpet
Verse 14 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:14
And the earth and the mountains shall be upheaved, and shall both be crushed into dust at a single crushing
Verse 15 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:15
On that day the woe that must come suddenly shall suddenly come
Verse 16 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:16
And the heaven shall cleave asunder, for on that day it shall be fragile
Verse 17 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:17
And the angels shall be on its sides, and over them on that day eight shall bear up the throne of thy Lord
Verse 18 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:18
On that day ye shall be brought before Him: none of your hidden deeds shall remain hidden
Verse 19 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:19
And he who shall have his book given to him in his right hand, will say to his friends, "Take ye it; read ye my book
Verse 20 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:20
I ever thought that to this my reckoning I should come
Verse 21 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:21
And his shall be a life that shall please him well
Verse 22 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:22
In a lofty garden
Verse 23 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:23
Whose clusters shall be near at hand
Verse 24 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:24
Eat ye and drink with healthy relish, as the meed of what ye sent on beforehand in the days which are past
Verse 25 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:25
But he who shall have his book given into his left hand, will say, "O that my book had never been given me
Verse 26 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:26
And that I had never known my reckoning
Verse 27 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:27
O that death had made an end of me
Verse 28 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:28
My wealth hath not profited me
Verse 29 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:29
My power hath perished from me
Verse 30 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:30
Lay ye hold on him and chain him
Verse 31 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:31
Then at the Hell-fire burn him
Verse 32 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:32
Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits thrust him
Verse 33 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:33
For he believed not in God, the Great
Verse 34 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:34
And was not careful to feed the poor
Verse 35 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:35
No friend therefore shall he have here this day
Verse 36 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:36
Nor food, but corrupt sores
Verse 37 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:37
Which none shall eat but the sinners
Verse 38 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:38
It needs not that I swear by what ye see
Verse 39 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:39
And by that which ye see not
Verse 40 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:40
That this verily is the word of an apostle worthy of all honour
Verse 41 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:41
And that it is not the word of a poet - how little do ye believe
Verse 42 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:42
Neither is it the word of a soothsayer (Kahin) - how little do ye receive warning
Verse 43 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:43
It is a missive from the Lord of the worlds
Verse 44 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:44
But if Muhammad had fabricated concerning us any sayings
Verse 45 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:45
We had surely seized him by the right hand
Verse 46 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:46
And had cut through the vein of his neck
Verse 47 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:47
Nor would We have withheld any one of you from him
Verse 48 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:48
But, verily, It (the Koran) is a warning for the God-fearing
Verse 49 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:49
And we well know that there are of you who treat it as a falsehood
Verse 50 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:50
But it shall be the despair of infidels
Verse 51 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:51
For it is the very truth of sure knowledge
Verse 52 — Surah Al-Haqqah 69:52
Praise, then, the name of thy Lord, the Great
