Verse 1 — Surah An-Naml 27:1
Taa Siin. Those are the signs of' the Quran and a book that makes clear
Verse 2 — Surah An-Naml 27:2
a guidance and good news for the believers
Verse 3 — Surah An-Naml 27:3
who establish worship (salat) and give charity (zakat) and they are certain of the hereafter
Verse 4 — Surah An-Naml 27:4
For those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have certainly made their deeds fair seeming to them, so they blindly wander
Verse 5 — Surah An-Naml 27:5
those are the persons for whom there is a severe punishment and in the hereafter they will be the greatest losers
Verse 6 — Surah An-Naml 27:6
And you are certainly made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing
Verse 7 — Surah An-Naml 27:7
When Moses said to his family, "I perceive a fire, I will bring information to you from it or I will come to you with a flaming and burning brand, so that you may warm yourselves
Verse 8 — Surah An-Naml 27:8
So when he came to it, a voice was heard that, "Blessed is whoever is in the fire and whoever is around it and glory be to God the Lord of the worlds
Verse 9 — Surah An-Naml 27:9
O Moses ! I am God, the Mighty, the Wise
Verse 10 — Surah An-Naml 27:10
And throw your staff," then when he saw it moving as if it were a snake he turned back retreating and did not return. "O Moses! do not fear, the messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me
Verse 11 — Surah An-Naml 27:11
nor he who was unjust, then he changed it (with) good after the evil, for I am certainly Protectively Forgiving, Merciful
Verse 12 — Surah An-Naml 27:12
And enter your hand into (the opening of) your bosom, it will come out white without any evil. (These are) among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his people, they are certainly a transgressing people
Verse 13 — Surah An-Naml 27:13
So when Our visible signs came to them, they said, "This is clear magic
Verse 14 — Surah An-Naml 27:14
And they knowingly denied it unjustly and proudly while they were certain about it (in) their souls (minds). Then see how the end of those who were corrupt, was (brought about)
Verse 15 — Surah An-Naml 27:15
And We had given knowledge to David and Solomon and they said, "Praise is due only for God Who has preferred us above many of His believing servants
Verse 16 — Surah An-Naml 27:16
And Solomon was David's heir and he said, "O mankind! we have been taught the speech of birds and we have been given of everything. This is certainly a clear grace
Verse 17 — Surah An-Naml 27:17
And his armies of the jinn and human beings and the birds were gathered before Solomon and they were formed into ordered ranks
Verse 18 — Surah An-Naml 27:18
until when they came to a valley of the ants, an ant said, "O you ants! enter your houses lest Solomon and his armies crush you while they do not perceive
Verse 19 — Surah An-Naml 27:19
So he smiled (and) laughed at its statement and said, "My Lord! grant me such orderliness that I should be grateful for Your favour with which You have favoured me and my parents, and that I should do such righteouswork which should please You; and admit me by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants
Verse 20 — Surah An-Naml 27:20
And he sought for the birds, then said, "How is it that I do not see the hoopoe or is he among those who arc absent
Verse 21 — Surah An-Naml 27:21
I will definitely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him or he should definitely come to me with a clear authority (justifying his absence)
Verse 22 — Surah An-Naml 27:22
So without making (him) wait for long (the hoopoe came) and said, "I have acquired (knowledge) of that which you do not know, and I bring to you true news from Saba
Verse 23 — Surah An-Naml 27:23
I found a woman ruling over them and she has been given of everything and she has a great throne
Verse 24 — Surah An-Naml 27:24
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun besides God, and the devil has made their deeds fair seeming to them and turned them away from the way, so they are misguided (to the extent)
Verse 25 — Surah An-Naml 27:25
that they do not prostrate to God Who brings forth that which is hidden in the skies and the earth and knows that which you hide and that which you make public
Verse 26 — Surah An-Naml 27:26
God, there is no god except Him, He is the Lord of the great throne (of the universe)
Verse 27 — Surah An-Naml 27:27
He said, "We will see whether you speak the truth or you are of the liars
Verse 28 — Surah An-Naml 27:28
Go with this letter of mine and deliver it to them, then turn away from them and see what (answer) they return
Verse 29 — Surah An-Naml 27:29
(The Queen) said, "O you chiefs! an honourable letter has been delivered to me
Verse 30 — Surah An-Naml 27:30
it is from Solomon, and it is: In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Verse 31 — Surah An-Naml 27:31
that, exalt not yourselves against me and come to me as those who submit (as Muslims)." (R)
Verse 32 — Surah An-Naml 27:32
She said, "O you chiefs! advise me in this affair of mine, I do not decide an affair until you are present with me
Verse 33 — Surah An-Naml 27:33
They said, "We are endued with strength and endued to fight severely, and it is on you to command, therefore you see what you (wish) to command
Verse 34 — Surah An-Naml 27:34
She said When kings enter a township, they certainly cause disorder in it, and make the mightiest of its people most disgraced and thus they (too) will do
Verse 35 — Surah An-Naml 27:35
and I am sending a gift to them, so as to see with (what answer) the messengers return
Verse 36 — Surah An-Naml 27:36
So when be (the envoy) came to Solomon he said, "What ! will you help me with wealth? But that which God has given me is better than that which he has given you. No, it is you who are happy with your gift (not I)
Verse 37 — Surah An-Naml 27:37
Return to them, and we will definitely come to them with armies which they will not be able to oppose, and we will definitely drive them out from there, disgraced, and they will be degraded
Verse 38 — Surah An-Naml 27:38
He said “O you chiefs ! which of you will bring her throne to me before they come to me surrendering (as Muslims)
Verse 39 — Surah An-Naml 27:39
One cleverly alert among the String Jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place and I certainly have the reliable strength to do it
Verse 40 — Surah An-Naml 27:40
One who had knowledge of the book* said, "I will bring it to you before the blinking of your eye." So when he saw it settled in his presence, he said, "This is (something) from the grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful, and one who is grateful, then his being grateful is only for (the benefit of) his own soul and one who is ungrateful, then my Lord is certainly Independent, Honourable
Verse 41 — Surah An-Naml 27:41
He said, "Make her throne unrecognizable for her, we will see whether she is capable of receiving guidance or she is of those who are not capable of receiving guidance
Verse 42 — Surah An-Naml 27:42
So when she came, it was said to her, "Is your throne like this?" She said, "It is just like it and we were given the know edge before it and we have submitted (as Muslims)
Verse 43 — Surah An-Naml 27:43
And that which she worshipped besides God, had hindered her (earlier), she was certainly of the people who were disbelievers
Verse 44 — Surah An-Naml 27:44
It was said to her, “Enter the palace.” So when she saw it, she thought it to be an expanse of water and removed (the covering) from her ankles (to cross it). He (Solomon) said, "It is a palace made smooth with glass.” She said, “My Lord! I have been unjust to myself and I submit with Solomon to God, the Lord of the worlds
Verse 45 — Surah An-Naml 27:45
And We indeed sent to Thamud their brother Saleh, (saying) that, “Serve God,” when they became two parties disputing (with each other)
Verse 46 — Surah An-Naml 27:46
He said, “O my people! why do you seek to hasten on the evil before the good, why do you not seek protective forgiveness of God that you may be dealt with mercifully?”
Verse 47 — Surah An-Naml 27:47
They said, “We have met with ill luck because of you and because of those with you." He said, “Your ill luck is with God, no, you are a people who are being tested.”
Verse 48 — Surah An-Naml 27:48
And there were nine persons in the city who caused corruption in the land and did not act right
Verse 49 — Surah An-Naml 27:49
They said, “Swear to each other by God that we will definitely attack him and his people by night, then we will definitely say to his heir: we did not witness the destruction of his people and we certainly speak the truth.”
Verse 50 — Surah An-Naml 27:50
And they planned a plan and We (too) planned a plan while they did not perceive
Verse 51 — Surah An-Naml 27:51
Then see what was the end of their plan, We destroyed them and their people all together
Verse 52 — Surah An-Naml 27:52
So those are their houses fallen down because they were unjust, there is certainly a sign in that for a people who know
Verse 53 — Surah An-Naml 27:53
And We delivered those who believed and who had guarded (against evil)
Verse 54 — Surah An-Naml 27:54
And (We sent) Lot, when he said to his people, “Why do you commit indecency while approach men besides women? No, you are an ignorant people.”
Verse 55 — Surah An-Naml 27:55
What! Do you indeed lustfully approach men besides women? No, you are an ignorant people
Verse 56 — Surah An-Naml 27:56
So the reply of his people was nothing but they said, "Drive out Lot's followers from your town, they are persons who want to be clean.”
Verse 57 — Surah An-Naml 27:57
So We delivered him and his followers except his wife, We destined her to be of those who remained behind
Verse 58 — Surah An-Naml 27:58
And We rained on them a rain, so evil was the rain of those who were warned. (R)
Verse 59 — Surah An-Naml 27:59
Say, “Praise is due only for God, and peace on His servants whom He has chosen. Is God better or that which they associate as partners (with Him)
Verse 60 — Surah An-Naml 27:60
Who is it, Who has created the skies and the earth and sent down for you water from the sky? Then We cause to grow through it, beautiful gardens, it is not (possible) for you to cause the trees to grow therein. Is there a god with God? No, they are a people who equate (others with God)
Verse 61 — Surah An-Naml 27:61
Who is it, Who has made the earth a place for staying, and made rivers in the passages therein, and made mountains on it, and made a barrier between the two seas? Is there a god with God? No, the majority of them does not know
Verse 62 — Surah An-Naml 27:62
Who is it, Who responds to the distressed when he prays to Him and removes the evil and makes you successors of the earth? Is there a god with God? Little is it that you mind
Verse 63 — Surah An-Naml 27:63
Who is it, Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as good news before His mercy? Is there a god with God? Highly Exalted is God above that which they associate as partners (with Him)
Verse 64 — Surah An-Naml 27:64
Who is it, Who begins the creation then gets it reproduced, and Who provides you from the sky and the earth? Is there a god with God? Say, “Bring your proof if you are truthful.”
Verse 65 — Surah An-Naml 27:65
Say, “No one in the skies and the earth knows the unseen except God, and they do not perceive when they will be raised.”
Verse 66 — Surah An-Naml 27:66
No, their knowledge has reached (its limit with regard to its penetration) into the hereafter, no, they are in a doubt regarding it, no, they are blind regarding it. (R)
Verse 67 — Surah An-Naml 27:67
And those who do not believe say, “What! when we become (part of the) soil and our fathers (too), will we be brought out
Verse 68 — Surah An-Naml 27:68
We have been promised this, we and our fathers before, these are nothing but stories of the ancient
Verse 69 — Surah An-Naml 27:69
Say, “Travel in the earth, then see how the end of the criminals was (brought about).”
Verse 70 — Surah An-Naml 27:70
And do not grieve over them nor be in distress because of that which they plan
Verse 71 — Surah An-Naml 27:71
And they say, "When will this promise (be fulfilled) if you are truthful?”
Verse 72 — Surah An-Naml 27:72
Say, “It may be that part of that which you are seeking to be hastened on, is following you closely.”
Verse 73 — Surah An-Naml 27:73
And your Lord is certainly full of grace for mankind but the majority of them is not grateful
Verse 74 — Surah An-Naml 27:74
And your Lord certainly knows that which is hidden in their bosoms and that which they make public
Verse 75 — Surah An-Naml 27:75
And there is nothing of the unseen in the sky and the earth but it is (recorded) in a clear record
Verse 76 — Surah An-Naml 27:76
This Quran certainly narrates to the children of Israel, most of those (matters) in which they differ
Verse 77 — Surah An-Naml 27:77
and it is certainly a guide and mercy for the believers
Verse 78 — Surah An-Naml 27:78
Your Lord will certainly decide between them by His judgment, and He is the Mighty, the Knowing
Verse 79 — Surah An-Naml 27:79
so put your trust in God, you are certainly on clear truth
Verse 80 — Surah An-Naml 27:80
You cannot make the dead to hear nor can you make the deaf to hear the call when they return retreating
Verse 81 — Surah An-Naml 27:81
nor can you lead the blind (away) from their error, you can make no one to hear except those who believe in Our signs, so they submit (as Muslims)
Verse 82 — Surah An-Naml 27:82
And when the word becomes incumbent on them, We will bring out for them a living creature from the earth which will speak to them because mankind was not sure of Our signs
Verse 83 — Surah An-Naml 27:83
And the day We will gather from every community, batches of those who denied Our signs, they will be formed in to ordered ranks
Verse 84 — Surah An-Naml 27:84
until when they come (before God), He will say, “Did you deny My signs and did not comprehend them in (your ) knowledge, or what was it that you did?”
Verse 85 — Surah An-Naml 27:85
And the word will become incumbent on them because they were unjust, so they will not (be able to) speak
Verse 86 — Surah An-Naml 27:86
Did they not see that We have made the night that they may rest therein and the day to give visibility? In that there are certainly signs for a people who believe
Verse 87 — Surah An-Naml 27:87
And the day it will be blown into the trumpet (structure of the universe), then whoever is in the skies and whoever is in the earth will be horrified except such as God wills, and all will come to Him humbled
Verse 88 — Surah An-Naml 27:88
And you see the mountains, you suppose them to be firm, but they will pass away like the passing away of clouds. The work of God Who perfected everything. He is certainly informed of what you do
Verse 89 — Surah An-Naml 27:89
Whoever comes with good, then for him is (a reward) better than that and they will be among those who will be secure from the horror of that day
Verse 90 — Surah An-Naml 27:90
And Whoever comes with evil, they will be thrown on their faces into the fire. Will you be rewarded (for something) other than that which you used to do
Verse 91 — Surah An-Naml 27:91
I am commanded only to serve the Lord of this city (of Mecca) which He has made sacred and to Whom belongs everything, and I am commanded to be among those who submit (as Muslims)
Verse 92 — Surah An-Naml 27:92
and to read (and follow ) the Quran, because one who receives guidance, then he receives guidance only (for the benefit) of his own soul, and one who goes astray,( does so for his own loss), then say (to him, “ I am only of those who warn.”)
Verse 93 — Surah An-Naml 27:93
And say, “Praise is due only for God Who will show His signs to you, so that you will recognize them, and your Lord is not unaware of what you do.”
