Thus it is communicated to you and (it was similarly communicated) to those before you (that) God is the Mighty, the Wise

Verse 4 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:4

Whatever is in the skies and whatever is in the earth is His, and He is the High, the Great

Verse 5 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:5

The skies are about to cleave asunder from their top, while the angels glorify by praising their Lord and ask for protective forgiveness for those in the earth. Beware ! God is certainly Protectively Forgiving, the Merciful. iful

Verse 6 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:6

And those who take guardians besides Him, God is the Custodian over them and you are not a trustee over them

Verse 7 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:7

And thus We have communicated to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the original city ( Mecca ) and those around it, and warn them of the day of gathering wherein there is no doubt, a party will be in the garden and a party will be in the blazing fire

Verse 8 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:8

And had God willed, He would have made them a single community, but He admits whom He wills into His Mercy; and those who are unjust will have neither a guardian nor a helper

Verse 9 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:9

Or have they taken guardians besides Him? By God, He is the Guardian, and He gives life to the dead, and He has power over everything

Verse 10 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:10

And in whatever thing you disagree, the judgment thereof will be from God, that is God my Lord, in Him I put my trust and towards Him I turn

Verse 11 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:11

The Initiator of creation of the skies and the earth, He has made mates for you from among yourselves, and pairs of the cattle, whereby He multiplies you. There is nothing like His likeness and He is the Hearing, the Seeing

His are the keys of the skies and the earth, He enlarges the provision for whom He wills and straitens ( it for whomever and whenever He wills), He is certainly the Knower of everything

Verse 13 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:13

He has given to you the ( same ) law of religion which He had enjoined on Noah; and that which We communicated to you and that which We enjoined on Abraham and Moses and Jesus ( are also the same), that: “Establish the religion and do not be divided therein.” Hard on the polytheists is that which you invite them to. God chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides towards Himself, him who turns ( to Him)

Verse 14 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:14

And they became divided only after the knowledge that came to them, (because of ) mutual envy. And had a statement from your Lord not gone forth (for giving them time) till an appointed term it would have been judged between them. And those who were made to inherit the book after them, are in a restless doubt concerning the ( Quran ). would have been judged between them. And those who were made to inherit the book after them, are in a restless doubt concerning the ( Quran)

Verse 15 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:15

Then invite to that, and be established ( on the Quran ) as you are commanded, and do not follow their desires, and say, “I believe in that which God has sent down of the book, and I am commanded to do justice between you, God is our Lord and your Lord, for us our deeds and for you your deeds, ( let there be ) no argument between us and you, God will bring us together and towards Him is the destination.”

Verse 16 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:16

And those who argue concerning God after He has been accepted, their argument is weightless with their Lord, and on them is anger and for them is severe punishment

Verse 17 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:17

It is God who has sent down the book containing the truth and the balance. And what will make you realize, perhaps the hour of doom is near

Verse 18 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:18

Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it, but those who believe are afraid of it and they know that it is true. Beware ! those who have a doubt concerning the hour of doom are certainly far astray ( from the truth)

Verse 19 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:19

God is gracious to His servants, He provides for whom He wills and He is the Strong, the Mighty

Verse 20 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:20

Whoever intends ( to have the ) tilth of the hereafter, We give increase to him in his tilth(Reward), and whoever intends to have the tilth of this world, We give it to him from it but he has no portion in the hereafter

Verse 21 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:21

Or have they partners who have made a law of religion for them, for which God has not given ( any ) permission? And had a decisive statement not been made, it would have been judged between them and for those who are unjust, there will certainly be a painful punishment

Verse 22 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:22

You will see those who were unjust, afraid of that which they earned, and that will befall them. And those who believed and did righteous works will be in meadows of gardens. They will have from their Lord what they will for. That is the great grace

Verse 23 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:23

That is ( the reward about ) which God conveys the good news to His servants who believe and do righteous works. Say, “I do not ask you for a reward for it, but love among relatives.” And whoever earns good We will give him more of good therein. God is certainly Protectively Forgiving, One Who acknowledges

Verse 24 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:24

Or do they say, “He has forged a lie against God.” ( If such a forgery is done ), then if God wills, He will put a seal on your heart; and God will abolish the falsehood and prove the truth by His words. He is certainly the Knower of the contents of the bosoms

Verse 25 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:25

And He it is Who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons the evil deeds, and He knows what you do

Verse 26 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:26

And He responds to those who believe and do righteous works and He gives them more out of His grace; and the disbelievers, for them there is a severe punishment

Verse 27 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:27

And if God were to enlarge the provision of His servants they would rebel in the earth, but He sends down according to a programme that which He wills, He is certainly informed of, and seeing His servants

Verse 28 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:28

And He it is Who sends down the rain after they have despaired, and scatters His mercy, and He is the Guardian, the Praised

Verse 29 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:29

And among His signs is the creation of the skies and the earth and that which He has spread in them from among the living beings, and He has the power to gather them, when He wills

Verse 30 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:30

And whatever disaster befalls you it is due to what your own hands have earned and He pardons much

Verse 31 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:31

And you cannot frustrate ( God ) in the earth, and you do not have besides God any guardian or helper

Verse 32 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:32

And among His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains

Verse 33 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:33

If He wills, He can make the wind stationary so that the ( ships ) remain motionless on its back*. Certainly there are signs in that for every patient grateful one

Verse 34 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:34

Or He can cause them to perish due to that which they earned, but He pardons much

Verse 35 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:35

And ( let ) those who dispute concerning Our signs know ( that ) there is no escape for them

Verse 36 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:36

So anything that you are given, is only a ( temporary ) provision for the life of this world, and that which is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord

Verse 37 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:37

and those who avoid the great sins and indecencies and when they are angry they protectively forgive

Verse 38 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:38

and those who respond to their Lord and establish worship ( salat ) and their affairs ( are decided by ) counsel among themselves and they spend from that which We have provided them

Verse 39 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:39

and those who, when oppression afflicts them, they defend themselves

Verse 40 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:40

And the requital of an evil is an evil similar to it, but one who pardons and reconciles, then ( the responsibility of ) rewarding him is on God, He certainly does not like those who are unjust

Verse 41 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:41

And for him who defends after an injustice was done to him, then for such, there is no way ( of blame ) against them

Verse 42 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:42

The way ( of blame ) is only against those who do injustice to mankind and rebel in the earth without having the right to do so, for such, there will be a painful punishment

Verse 43 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:43

And whoever is patient and forgives, ( then ) those are certainly among the affairs ( which require ) determination

Verse 44 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:44

And he whom God leaves to stray, then for him there is no guardian after that. And you will see those who were unjust, that when they see the punishment they will say, “Is there any way to return?”

Verse 45 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:45

And you will see them being brought before the , humbled due to disgrace, looking secretly from the corners ( of their eyes ). And those who believe will say, “The losers are certainly those who are themselves at loss and their people ( too ), on the day of resurrection.” Beware ! those who are unjust will be in an eternal punishment

Verse 46 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:46

And they will have no guardians to help them besides God, and He whom God leaves to stray, for him there is no way ( of safety)

Verse 47 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:47

Respond to your Lord before the coming of the day from God, for which there is no turning back. On that day there will be no refuge for you nor will you have ( the power of ) rejection

Verse 48 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:48

But if they turn away, then We have not sent you as a custodian over them, there is nothing ( incumbent ) on you except conveyance ( of the message ). And when We make man taste mercy from Us, he is exultant thereat, but when an evil afflicts them due to what their hands have sent forth, then man certainly becomes ungrateful ( forgetting the earlier good days)

Verse 49 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:49

God’s is the kingdom of the skies and the earth. He creates what He wills, He grants females ( daughters ) to whom He wills and He grants males ( sons ) to whom He wills

Verse 50 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:50

Or He pairs them ( by granting both ) males and females and He makes barren whom He wills. He is certainly Knowing, Powerful

Verse 51 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:51

And it is not for a man that God should speak to him except ( through inspirational ) communication or from behind a veil or by sending a messenger who communicates by His permission what He wills, He is certainly High, Wise

Verse 52 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:52

And thus ( in the manner listed last above ), We have communicated to you ( through ) the spirit ( angel Gabriel, the message ), by Our command. You did not know what the book was nor ( did you know what ) the belief ( was ), but We made it a light, guiding thereby, whom We will of Our servants, and you are certainly guiding towards the straight path, the book was nor ( did you know what ) the belief ( was ), but We made it a light, guiding thereby, whom We will of Our servants, and you are certainly guiding towards the straight path

Verse 53 — Surah Ash-Shura 42:53

the path of God, Whose is whatever is in the skies and whatever is in the earth. Beware ! towards God is the destination of affairs
