Verse 1 — Surah Muhammad 47:1

Those who do not believe and turn away (people) from the way of God, He makes their deeds get lost

Verse 2 — Surah Muhammad 47:2

And those who believe and do righteous works and believe in that which is sent down on Muhammad, and that is the truth from their Lord, He removes from them their evils and sets right their condition

Verse 3 — Surah Muhammad 47:3

That is because those who do not believe follow falsehood and those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus God sets forth for mankind their similitudes

Verse 4 — Surah Muhammad 47:4

So when you meet the disbelievers ˹in battle˺, strike ˹their˺ necks until you have thoroughly subdued them, then bind them firmly. Later ˹free them either as˺ an act of grace or by ransom until the war comes to an end. So will it be. Had God willed, He ˹Himself˺ could have inflicted punishment on them. But He does ˹this only to˺ test some of you by means of others. And those who are martyred in the cause of God, He will never render their deeds void

Verse 5 — Surah Muhammad 47:5

He will guide them and set right their condition

Verse 6 — Surah Muhammad 47:6

And He will make them enter the garden which He has made known to them

Verse 7 — Surah Muhammad 47:7

O you who believe! if you help God, He will help you and make your feet firm

Verse 8 — Surah Muhammad 47:8

And those who do not believe, there is destruction for them and He makes their deeds get lost

Verse 9 — Surah Muhammad 47:9

That is because they disliked that which God sent down, so He made their deeds become fruitless

Verse 10 — Surah Muhammad 47:10

Have they not then traveled in the earth and seen, how the end of those before them was (brought about)? God brought down destruction upon them and for (these) disbelievers (too, there will be something) similar to it

Verse 11 — Surah Muhammad 47:11

That is because God is the Guardian of those who believe, and because the disbelievers have no guardian for them

Verse 12 — Surah Muhammad 47:12

God will certainly make those who believe and do righteous works enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, and those who do not believe, (they) enjoy themselves and eat as the cattle eat, and the fire will be their home

Verse 13 — Surah Muhammad 47:13

And how many towns (were there) which were severer in strength than your town (Mecca) which sent you out, (but) We destroyed them, so there was no helper for them

Verse 14 — Surah Muhammad 47:14

Then, is he, who is on a clear proof from his Lord, like him, to whom the evil of his deed is made fair-seeming? And they follow their desires

Verse 15 — Surah Muhammad 47:15

A similitude of the garden, which is promised to those who guard (against evil): In it there are rivers of water without pollution and rivers of milk the taste of which does not change and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers and rivers of clarified honey and therein for them are all (kinds) of fruits and protective forgiveness from their Lord. (Are these) like those who will stay in the fire and will be given boiling water to drink so that it cuts their bowels

Verse 16 — Surah Muhammad 47:16

And among them are those who seek to hear you until when they go out from your presence, (then) they say to those who have been given knowledge, “What was it that he said just now?” Those are the persons on whose hearts God has set a seal and they follow their desires

Verse 17 — Surah Muhammad 47:17

And those who receive guidance, He increases them in guidance and gives them (the quality of) guarding (against evil)

Verse 18 — Surah Muhammad 47:18

Do they wait for anything but the hour of doom that it should come on them suddenly? Then its tokens have already come. Then how will their (being) mindful (be beneficial) to them when it (actually) comes on them

Verse 19 — Surah Muhammad 47:19

Then know that there is no god except God and seek protection for your sin and for the believing men and the believing women. And God knows your places of movement and your places of rest (homes)

Verse 20 — Surah Muhammad 47:20

And those who believe say, “Why is not a sura, (a chapter of the Quran) sent down?” But when a decisive sura is sent down and fighting is mentioned therein, you see those in whose hearts is a disease, looking at you with a look of one who is fainting because of death, so sorrowful is their state

Verse 21 — Surah Muhammad 47:21

(What is required is) obedience and a recognised (good) word. Then when the affair is determined, then if they be truthful to God, that would be better for them

Verse 22 — Surah Muhammad 47:22

But if you held command, is it not possible that you will cause corruption in the earth and cut off the ties of your relationships

Verse 23 — Surah Muhammad 47:23

Those are the persons whom God has cursed so He has made them deaf and blinded their eyes

Verse 24 — Surah Muhammad 47:24

Do they not then reflect on the Quran or are there locks on their hearts

Verse 25 — Surah Muhammad 47:25

Those who turn on their backs after (receiving) the guidance which has been made clear to them, the devil has certainly inclined them (away from the Quran) while giving them (false) hopes

Verse 26 — Surah Muhammad 47:26

That is because, they say to those who dislike that which God has sent down, “We will obey you in some of the affairs,” and God knows their secrets

Verse 27 — Surah Muhammad 47:27

Then how will it be when the angels will take them back (by causing them to die), striking their faces and their backs

Verse 28 — Surah Muhammad 47:28

That is because, they followed that which displeased God and disliked pleasing Him, therefore He made their deeds fruitless

Verse 29 — Surah Muhammad 47:29

Or do those in whose hearts is a disease think, that God will not expose their bad intentions

Verse 30 — Surah Muhammad 47:30

And if We will We could show them to you, so that you could recognise them by their marks, and you will definitely recognise them by (their) distortion in speech and God knows your deeds

Verse 31 — Surah Muhammad 47:31

And We will definitely test you till We know (mark out) those among you who strive and are patient, and We will , examine the reports of your (behaviour)

Verse 32 — Surah Muhammad 47:32

Those who do not believe and turn away (people) from the way of God and oppose the messenger after (receiving) the guidance which has been made clear to them, they will certainly never be able to harm God in anyway and He will make their deeds fruitless

Verse 33 — Surah Muhammad 47:33

O you who believe! obey God and obey the messenger and do not make your deeds vain

Verse 34 — Surah Muhammad 47:34

Those who do not believe and turn away (people) from the way of God then die while they are disbelievers, then God will never forgive them

Verse 35 — Surah Muhammad 47:35

So do not falter or cry for peace, for you will have the upper hand and Allah is with you. And He will never let your deeds go to waste

Verse 36 — Surah Muhammad 47:36

The life of this world is only sport and pastime and if you believe and guard (against evil), He will give you your reward and He will not ask you for your wealth

Verse 37 — Surah Muhammad 47:37

If He asks you for the (wealth) then insists (on it) you will hoard it (due to niggardliness) and your bad intentions will be exposed

Verse 38 — Surah Muhammad 47:38

Behold ! you are such people who are invited to spend in the way of God, but among you is he who hoards (due to niggardliness). But he who hoards, is niggardly only against his own soul. And God is Independent while you are the needy, and if you turn away He will exchange you for people other than you, then they will not be like you
