Verse 1 — Surah An-Najm 53:1
By the star when it sets
Verse 2 — Surah An-Najm 53:2
Your companion neither went astray nor was he misled
Verse 3 — Surah An-Najm 53:3
nor does he speak out of (his own) desire
Verse 4 — Surah An-Najm 53:4
It is nothing but a communication, communicated
Verse 5 — Surah An-Najm 53:5
One (Jibraeel) severe in strength, made it known to him
Verse 6 — Surah An-Najm 53:6
(he) possesses vigor so he sought equilibrium
Verse 7 — Surah An-Najm 53:7
when he was on the high horizon
Verse 8 — Surah An-Najm 53:8
Then he came near and he came down
Verse 9 — Surah An-Najm 53:9
and was at a distance of two bows, length or closer
Verse 10 — Surah An-Najm 53:10
then he communicated to His servant that which he communicated
Verse 11 — Surah An-Najm 53:11
The heart did not lie (in communicating) what it saw
Verse 12 — Surah An-Najm 53:12
What ! do you dispute with him as to what he saw
Verse 13 — Surah An-Najm 53:13
And he indeed saw him (Jibraeel) in another descent
Verse 14 — Surah An-Najm 53:14
near the farthest lote tree
Verse 15 — Surah An-Najm 53:15
near which is the garden for staying
Verse 16 — Surah An-Najm 53:16
when that covered the lote tree which covered
Verse 17 — Surah An-Najm 53:17
The sight neither deviated nor exceeded the limits
Verse 18 — Surah An-Najm 53:18
He indeed saw (some) of the greater signs of his Lord
Verse 19 — Surah An-Najm 53:19
Did you (ever) see Al Lat and Al Uzza
Verse 20 — Surah An-Najm 53:20
and Manat the third (and) the last (idol)
Verse 21 — Surah An-Najm 53:21
What! for you the males and for Him the females
Verse 22 — Surah An-Najm 53:22
Then that is an unfair division
Verse 23 — Surah An-Najm 53:23
They are nothing but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which God has not sent down any authority. They follow nothing but conjecture and that which their souls desire, though the guidance has come to them from their Lord
Verse 24 — Surah An-Najm 53:24
Or, shall man have what (all) he desires
Verse 25 — Surah An-Najm 53:25
But God’s is the hereafter (future) and the former (past)
Verse 26 — Surah An-Najm 53:26
And how many an angel is there in the skies, whose recommendation will be of no use in anything, except after God gives permission to whom He wills and pleases
Verse 27 — Surah An-Najm 53:27
Those who do not believe in the hereafter certainly name the angels with female names
Verse 28 — Surah An-Najm 53:28
and they do not have any knowledge about it, they follow nothing but conjecture, and conjecture is certainly of no use in anything compared to the truth
Verse 29 — Surah An-Najm 53:29
So keep away from him who turns away from Our remembrance and desires nothing but the life of this world
Verse 30 — Surah An-Najm 53:30
That is the (ultimate) reach of their knowledge. Your Lord certainly knows best, him who goes astray from His way, and He knows best, him who receives guidance
Verse 31 — Surah An-Najm 53:31
And whatever is in the skies and whatever is in the earth is God’s that He may reward those who do evil for that which they did and (that) He may reward those who do good with (something) better
Verse 32 — Surah An-Najm 53:32
Those who avoid great sins and indecencies except small faults, (then) your Lord is certainly Ample in protectively forgiving (them). He knew you best when He produced you from the earth and when you were hidden in the wombs of your mothers, therefore do not attribute purity to yourselves. He knows best him who guards (against evil)
Verse 33 — Surah An-Najm 53:33
Did you not see him who turns his back
Verse 34 — Surah An-Najm 53:34
and gives a little and withholds
Verse 35 — Surah An-Najm 53:35
Has he with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees
Verse 36 — Surah An-Najm 53:36
Or was he not informed of that which was in the books of Moses
Verse 37 — Surah An-Najm 53:37
and Abraham, who fulfilled (his responsibility by informing)
Verse 38 — Surah An-Najm 53:38
that no bearer of burden will bear the burden of another
Verse 39 — Surah An-Najm 53:39
and that there is nothing for man except that which he strives for
Verse 40 — Surah An-Najm 53:40
and that his striving will be seen
Verse 41 — Surah An-Najm 53:41
then he will be rewarded for it with a full reward
Verse 42 — Surah An-Najm 53:42
and that towards your Lord is the (ultimate) goal
Verse 43 — Surah An-Najm 53:43
and that it is He Who makes (one) laugh and makes (one) weep
Verse 44 — Surah An-Najm 53:44
and that it is He Who gives death and gives life
Verse 45 — Surah An-Najm 53:45
and that He created the pairs, the male and the female
Verse 46 — Surah An-Najm 53:46
from the sperm when it was poured
Verse 47 — Surah An-Najm 53:47
and that on Him is (the responsibility of) the later production (creation after death)
Verse 48 — Surah An-Najm 53:48
and that it is He Who gives riches and satisfaction
Verse 49 — Surah An-Najm 53:49
and that He is the Lord of the (star) Sirius
Verse 50 — Surah An-Najm 53:50
and that He destroyed the ancient Aad
Verse 51 — Surah An-Najm 53:51
and Thamud, He did not allow to remain
Verse 52 — Surah An-Najm 53:52
and the people of Noah earlier, because they were more unjust and more rebellious
Verse 53 — Surah An-Najm 53:53
and the overthrown cities, He overthrew
Verse 54 — Surah An-Najm 53:54
so there covered them that which covered
Verse 55 — Surah An-Najm 53:55
So which of the bounties of your Lord will you dispute about
Verse 56 — Surah An-Najm 53:56
This is a warner like the ancient warners
Verse 57 — Surah An-Najm 53:57
The approaching one draws near
Verse 58 — Surah An-Najm 53:58
none besides God can expose it
Verse 59 — Surah An-Najm 53:59
Do you then wonder at this statement
Verse 60 — Surah An-Najm 53:60
and you laugh and do not weep
Verse 61 — Surah An-Najm 53:61
while you are involved in vanities (being heedless of your duty)
Verse 62 — Surah An-Najm 53:62
Therefore bow down before God and serve (Him)
