Verse 1 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:1

Whatever is in the skies and the earth glorifies God and He is the Mighty, the Wise

Verse 2 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:2

His is the kingdom of the skies and the earth, He gives life and causes to die and He has power over everything

Verse 3 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:3

He is the First and the Last and the Evident (Outer Most) and the Hidden (Inner Most) and He is the Knower of everything

Verse 4 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:4

He it is Who created the skies and the earth in six periods, then He set the balance on the throne (of the universe). He knows that which enters into the earth and that which comes out of it and that which comes down from the sky and that which goes up into it. And He is with you wherever you are and God is the Seer of that which you do

Verse 5 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:5

His is the kingdom of the skies and the earth, and (all) affairs will be returned to God

Verse 6 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:6

He causes the night to enter into the day and He causes the day to enter into the night, and He is the Knower of what the bosoms (hearts) possess

Verse 7 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:7

Believe in God and His messenger and spend from that which He has made you to be successors of. So those who believe from among you and spend, for them there is a great reward

Verse 8 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:8

And what (reason is there) for you that you do not believe in God when His messenger invites you to believe in your Lord, and indeed He has taken a pledge from you, if you are believers

Verse 9 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:9

He it is Who sends down clear signs on His servant, that He may bring you out from darkness towards light and God is certainly full of pity. Merciful to you

Verse 10 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:10

And what (reason is there) for you, that you do not spend in the way of God, when God’s is the inheritance of the skies and the earth (that is, when everything will go back to Him)? Those among you who spent and fought before the victory (of Mecca) are not equal to, (but) are greater in rank compared to those who spent and fought after (the victory), and to each God has promised good, and God is informed of that which you do

Verse 11 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:11

Who is there who will loan to God a good loan so that He will double it for him and for him there will be an honourable reward

Verse 12 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:12

One day you will see the believing men and the believing women, their light running before them and on their right hand (side), good news to you this day: gardens beneath which rivers flow, for staying therein. That is the great achievement

Verse 13 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:13

That day the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women will say to those who believe, “Wait for us, that we may get light from your light,” it will be said, “Go back to your rear (past life if possible) then seek a light.” Then a wall will be set up between them for which there will be a gate, inside of it there will be mercy and on the outer side of it (there will be) punishment

Verse 14 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:14

The (hypocrites) will call out to the (believers), “Were we not with you?” They will say, “Why not! but you yourselves fell into temptation and you hesitated and doubted and your desires deceived you till the command of God came, and the deceiver deceived you concerning God.”

Verse 15 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:15

So on that day no ransom will be accepted from you nor from those who did not believe, your settling place will be the fire, that is your (place of) turning back and it is an evil destination

Verse 16 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:16

Has not the time come for those who believe, that their hearts become humbled for the remembrance of God and that which God has sent down of the truth, and (that) they do not become like those who were given the book earlier? So, as the time passed on them their hearts hardened and many of them were transgressors

Verse 17 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:17

Know that God gives life to the earth after its death, He makes the signs clear for you that you may understand

Verse 18 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:18

The men who give charity and the women who give charity and loan to God a good loan. He will certainly double it for them and for them there will be an honourable reward

Verse 19 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:19

And those who believe in God and His messengers, those are the persons who are truthful. And the witnesses (martyrs) are with their Lord, for them is their reward and their light. And those who do not believe and deny Our signs, they are the inhabitants of hell

Verse 20 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:20

Know that the life of this world is nothing but sport and pastime and pomp and boasting among yourselves and competition for increase in wealth and children, it is like rain, the growth of vegetation through which pleases the farmer, then it dries up and you see it become yellow, then it becomes broken pieces. And in the hereafter there is severe punishment and protective forgiveness and pleasure from God. And the life of this world is nothing but a deceptive provision

Verse 21 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:21

Be foremost in (seeking) protective forgiveness from your Lord and the garden, the extension of which is like the extension of the sky and the earth, prepared for those who believe in God and His messengers. That is the grace of God, He gives it to whom He wills and God is the Possessor of great grace

Verse 22 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:22

No disaster befalls in the earth nor among yourselves, but it is (recorded) in a book before We bring it into existence, that is certainly easy for God

Verse 23 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:23

(You are informed of this) so that you may not despair over (matters) which have gone out of your hands (i.e. your failures) nor be exultant because of that which He has given you (of success). And God does not like all those who are proud, boastful

Verse 24 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:24

who hoard (being niggardly) and enjoin mankind to hoard (being niggardly). And whoever turns away, then God is certainly Independent, the Praised

Verse 25 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:25

We indeed sent Our messengers with clear proofs and We sent down with them the book (law) and the balance (justice) that mankind may conduct themselves with justice, and We sent down the iron in which is severe strength and other benefits for mankind; and that God may know (mark out) him who helps Him and His messengers without seeing (Him), God is certainly Strong, Mighty

Verse 26 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:26

And We indeed sent Noah and Abraham and appointed the prophet hood and the book (to remain) in their descendants, so among them are those who are guided and many of them are transgressors

Verse 27 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:27

Then We made Our messengers to follow in their footsteps and We made Jesus, the Son of Mary, to follow and gave him the Gospel, and placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. And they invented monasticism*, We did not prescribe it for them, only to seek God’s pleasure, but they did not observe it with the observation due to it. So We gave to those who believed from among them, their reward, and most of them are transgressors. * Seclusion from worldly life. him. Verse 28 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:28

O you who believe ! fear God and believe in His messenger, He will give you a double portion of His mercy and He will appoint for you a light through which you will walk and He will protectively forgive you and God is Protectively Forgiving, Merciful

Verse 29 — Surah Al-Hadid 57:29

that the owners of the book may know that they do not have control on anything from the grace of God and that the bounty is in God's hand, He gives it to whom He wills and God is the Possessor of great grace
