Truly do the believers succeed

And those that shun vanity

Verse 4 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:4

And those that practise charity

Verse 5 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:5

And those that guard their chastity

Verse 6 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:6

Except from their spouses or from those whom they rightfully possess. For indulging in sex with them, they are, of course, not to be blamed

Verse 7 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:7

But whoever seeks to go beyond that — those are the ones that go beyond limits

Verse 8 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:8

And those who are true to their trusts and who keep their word

Verse 9 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:9

And those who guard their prayers,h

Verse 10 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:10

They are the ones who shall inherit

Verse 11 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:11

They shall inherit the Paradise. And they shall be therein forever

Verse 12 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:12

And We did create the human being from an extract of clay. @ @ The Nobel Prize winner for medicine Jack W. Czostak says, "...a common clay mineral montmorillonite might have played a role in helping to make RNA." RNA, is one of the three major macromolecules (along with DNA and proteins) that are essential for all known forms of life. [Source]

Verse 13 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:13

Then We made him/her a small seed (fertilized ovum) dropped into a resting-place, secure and compact

Verse 14 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:14

Then We made the seed a clinging leech-like clot of blood, then We made it a thing looking like a chewed morsel of food, then We made it bones, then We dressed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creature. Blessed then is Allah, the Best of the creators

Verse 15 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:15

Then, after that, you will indeed certainly die

Verse 16 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:16

Then, on the day of Resurrection, you shall indeed be raised from the dead

Verse 17 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:17

And We did make above you seven layers. And We have not ever been heedless about what We have created

Verse 18 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:18

And We send down water from the sky in measured quantities, then We cause it to settle down in the earth. And We can indeed certainly make it evaporate

Verse 19 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:19

Then We bring up thereby gardens of date-palm and grapes for you. There are plenty of fruits for you to eat, in those gardens

Verse 20 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:20

And a tree (olive) that grows out around Mount Sinai and produces oil and condiment for those who use these in their food

Verse 21 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:21

And certainly indeed there is a pointer for you in the cattle. We provide for you a drink out of what their bellies contain. And you have in them many benefits. And from them you get meat to eat

Verse 22 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:22

And on them and on the ships you are carried

Verse 23 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:23

And We did certainly send Noah to his people. And he said, "O my people! Worship Allah, you have no god other than Him. Will you not then fear Him

Verse 24 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:24

And then the leaders of those who suppressed the Truth from among his people said, "He is nothing but a man, like you. He desires to gain superiority over you. And if Allah had willed, He could certainly have sent down angels. We have not heard of such a thing happening during our forefathers' time

Verse 25 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:25

He is just a mad man. So keep a watch over him for some time

Verse 26 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:26

He said, "My Lord! Help me; for, they have rejected me

Verse 27 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:27

We then revealed our instructions to him: "Build the Ark under Our supervision and revealed instructions. And when, at Our command, the surface of the earth starts overflowing with water, put into it (Ark) two of every pair, and members of your family, except those among them against whom the Word (Allah's decree) has already been issued. And do not plead with Me on behalf of those who are cruel. They shall indeed be drowned

Verse 28 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:28

And when you and those with you go on board the Ark, say, `Praise is to Allah Who delivered us from the cruel people

Verse 29 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:29

And say, `My Lord! Take me to a blessed destination. And You are the One to take us to the best destination

Verse 30 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:30

Surely indeed there are signs in this. And surely, We do put people on trial

Verse 31 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:31

Then We raised up after them another generation

Verse 32 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:32

And We sent to them a Messenger from among them to tell them, "Worship Allah! You have no god other than Him. Will you not then take heed

Verse 33 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:33

And the leaders of those among his people who suppressed the Truth and considered the appointment in the hereafter a lie, and to whom We had afforded ease and comfort in the life this world, said, "This is none but a man like you! He eats of what you eat from and drinks of what you drink

Verse 34 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:34

And if you obey but a man like you, then surely you are doomed

Verse 35 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:35

Does he promise you that when you are dead and become dust and bones you shall then be brought out alive

Verse 36 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:36

What you are promised of is utterly nonsense

Verse 37 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:37

There is nothing but our life in this world. We die and we live. And we shall not be raised again

Verse 38 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:38

He is none other than a man who has forged a lie against Allah. And we are not going to believe in him

Verse 39 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:39

He (the Messenger) said, "O my Lord, help me! For, they have rejected me

Verse 40 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:40

Allah said, "Soon they shall be regretful

Verse 41 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:41

So the divine punishment caught up with them fairly and squarely. And We turned them into rubble. And so, the wicked people perished

Verse 42 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:42

Then We raised, after them, other generations

Verse 43 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:43

They cannot bring about the end of a community before the appointed time, nor can they delay it

Verse 44 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:44

Then We sent Our Messengers one after another. Whenever their Messenger came to a people, they denied he was the divine Messenger sent to them. So We made one community succeed another to doom and We got them mentioned in tales. And so, people, who believed not, perished

Verse 45 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:45

And then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our signs and a clear mandate

Verse 46 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:46

We sent them to Pharaoh and his chieftains, but they behaved haughtily and they were an egoist people

Verse 47 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:47

And they said, "What! Shall we believe in two men like us and their people are in our service

Verse 48 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:48

So they rejected the two and became of those who were destroyed

Verse 49 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:49

And We did give Moses the Book to guide them

Verse 50 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:50

And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign. And We gave them shelter on a lofty quiet ground with springs

Verse 51 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:51

Allah told every Messenger, "Eat of the things that are good and wholesome, and act righteously. I do indeed know what you do

Verse 52 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:52

And, indeed, this community of yours, is one single community. And I am the Lord of you all! Do take due heed of Me, then

Verse 53 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:53

But they divided themselves into communities pursuing different ways scripturewise. People of every sect are happy with what they have

Verse 54 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:54

So leave them with their delusions for a while

Verse 55 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:55

Do they think that by helping them with wealth and children

Verse 56 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:56

We are giving good things to them in a hurry? Nay, they do not perceive (that Allah is only testing them therewith)

Verse 57 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:57

Indeed those that are, out of fear of their Lord, on their guard against evil

Verse 58 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:58

And those that believe in the Verses/signs of their Lord

Verse 59 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:59

And those that do not worship anything or anyone other than their Lord

Verse 60 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:60

And those that give what they should, with their hearts apprehending that they are bound to return to their Lord some day

Verse 61 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:61

Those are the ones that hasten to do good things and they are in the forefront in doing them

Verse 62 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:62

And We do not lay on anyone a burden except to the extent he/she can bear. And with Us is a Book that speaks the truth. And they shall not be wronged

Verse 63 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:63

Nay, they are deluded about this. And, besides, they have other things to do

Verse 64 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:64

Until, when We punish the affluent among them, they cry foul

Verse 65 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:65

Cry not this day! You shall indeed not be given any help from Us

Verse 66 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:66

My Verses were certainly recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels

Verse 67 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:67

To ridicule the Verses in nocturnal confabulations

Verse 68 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:68

Is it then that they do not understand the Word, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their forefathers

Verse 69 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:69

Or, are they not acquainted with their Messenger, and so they deny him?h

Verse 70 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:70

Or do they say he is possessed? Nay! He has brought them the Truth, and most of them are averse to the Truth

Verse 71 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:71

And should the Truth follow their passions, there would certainly be chaos in the heavens and the earth and in everything therein. But We have brought them their Reminder, and from their Reminder they turn aside

Verse 72 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:72

Or, do you ask them for recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is the best! And He is the best of those who provide sustenance

Verse 73 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:73

And you do indeed invite them to the Straight Path

Verse 74 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:74

And those who do not believe in the Hereafter do indeed deviate from the Path

Verse 75 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:75

And if We show them mercy and free them of the distress they have, they would still blindly continue with their transgressions

Verse 76 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:76

And We did certainly punish them, but they did not become humble towards their Lord, nor do they submit

Verse 77 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:77

Until when We open upon them a door to severe punishment, they are despaired

Verse 78 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:78

And He it is Who gave you the ears and the eyes and the minds. You thank but little

Verse 79 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:79

And He it is Who multiplied you on the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered

Verse 80 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:80

And He it is Who gives life and causes death. And alternation of the night and the day is His handiwork. Do you not then understand

Verse 81 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:81

But they say the like of what the earlier peoples said

Verse 82 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:82

They say, "Are we certain to be raised again to life when we are dead and become dust and bones

Verse 83 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:83

This promise given to us now was also certainly given to our forefathers. These are nothing but stories of the ancients

Verse 84 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:84

Ask, "Whose — if you know — is the earth, and whose is whatever therein

Verse 85 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:85

They will say, "Allah's." Ask, "Why do you not remember [and worship Him alone] then

Verse 86 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:86

Ask, "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the mighty Throne

Verse 87 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:87

They will say, "Allah's." Ask, "Will you not then take heed of Him

Verse 88 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:88

Ask, "Who is it in Whose hand is the absolute control of all things and Who shelters, but Who needs none to shelter Him, if you do but know

Verse 89 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:89

They will say, "Allah." Ask, "How then are you deluded into worshipping someone/thing other than Him

Verse 90 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:90

But We have brought them the Truth, and certainly indeed they are lying

Verse 91 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:91

Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any other god! In that case every god would certainly have taken away what he created. And they would certainly have tried to overpower one another. Glorified is Allah above what they attribute to Him

Verse 92 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:92

The Knower of the unseen and the seen, He is exalted far above what they worship other than Him

Verse 93 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:93

Say, "My Lord! If You should make me see what they are warned against

Verse 94 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:94

My Lord, place me not then with the wicked people

Verse 95 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:95

And We can certainly indeed make you see what We warn them against

Verse 96 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:96

Dispel evil with what is good! We do know what they say

Verse 97 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:97

And say, "My Lord! I seek refuge in You against satanic promptings

Verse 98 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:98

And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they approach me

Verse 99 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:99

Wicked people continue with their misdeeds until when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord! Send me back

Verse 100 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:100

So that I may do good deeds in what I have left behind." Nay! It is just a wishful utterance that he makes. And before them is a barrier until the day they are raised

Verse 101 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:101

So when the trumpet is blown on the Resurrection Day, there shall be no ties of relationship between them, nor shall they ask of one another

Verse 102 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:102

Then all those are the successful ones who are heavy with good deeds

Verse 103 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:103

And those that are light in good deeds are the ones who have doomed themselves to live in Hell

Verse 104 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:104

The fire shall scorch their faces, and their lips therein shall be distorted in pain

Verse 105 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:105

Were not My Verses/signs recited to you and you rejected them

Verse 106 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:106

They would say, "Our Lord! It was our misfortune that made us a people gone astray

Verse 107 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:107

Our Lord! Take us out of it. And if we return to evil ways as before, then we shall indeed be doing wrong

Verse 108 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:108

The Lord shall say, "Get doomed therein! And speak to Me not

Verse 109 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:109

There was indeed a group of My subjects who said, `Our Lord! We do believe. So forgive us and have mercy on us. And You are the Best Bestower of mercies

Verse 110 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:110

But you held them so much in ridicule that you forgot to remember Me. And you continued laughing at them

Verse 111 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:111

Because they were patient, I have indeed rewarded them by making them (— and not you —) the winners this Day

Verse 112 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:112

The Lord would ask, "How many years did you stay in the earth

Verse 113 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:113

They would say, "We stayed a day or part of a day. We are not sure. So ask those who keep count

Verse 114 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:114

The Lord would say, "You did stay but a little — had you but known it

Verse 115 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:115

Did you then think that We had created you as an idle pursuit and that you shall not be returned to Us

Verse 116 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:116

So, exalted is Allah, the True Sovereign! There is no god but He, the Lord of the noble Throne

Verse 117 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:117

And he who prays to Allah, as also to another god besides Him, does have no evidence of any such god existing. So his case rests with his Lord only. The suppressors of the Truth shall indeed not succeed

Verse 118 — Surah Al-Muminun 23:118

And say, "Forgive, my Lord, and have mercy! And You are the best Bestower of mercies
