Verse 5 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:5

And no new aspect of divinity comes to them from the Gracious One, but they turn away from it

And, indeed, your Lord is certainly the One Who is Omnipotent, Merciful

Verse 10 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:10

And when your Lord called out to Moses: "Go to those wicked people

Verse 11 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:11

Verse 13 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:13

And my heart is straitened and my tongue not fluent. So then send this command to (my brother) Aaron

Verse 14 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:14

And, they have a criminal charge against me, so I fear they will kill me

Verse 15 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:15

Allah said, "Worry not about it! Go then to them, both of you, with Our signs/messages. We shall indeed be with you, ever listening

Verse 16 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:16

And when, both of you, come before Pharaoh, tell him, `We are indeed sent by the Lord of the worlds

Verse 17 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:17

So you let the children of Israel go with us

Verse 18 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:18

Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up amongst us as a child? And did you not spend among us years of your life

Verse 19 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:19

And you did what you did, and you remain ungrateful (that we have not punished you)

Verse 20 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:20

Moses said, "I did it while I was among those who go astray

Verse 21 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:21

And I fled from you because I feared you. And then my Lord bestowed me with a command and made me one of the Messengers

Verse 22 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:22

And is this a favour you did me — that you had enslaved the children of Israel

Verse 23 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:23

Pharaoh said: "And who is `Lord of the worlds

Verse 24 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:24

Moses replied, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you would but be convinced

Verse 25 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:25

Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear

Verse 26 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:26

Moses continued, "Your Lord, and Lord of your forefathers

Verse 27 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:27

Pharaoh interjected, "Indeed, your `Messenger' who has been sent to you is certainly mad

Verse 28 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:28

Moses went on, "Lord of the east and the west and of all that is between the two if you would but understand

Verse 29 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:29

Pharaoh Said, "Verily, if you have any deity other than me, I shall certainly put you into prison

Verse 30 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:30

Moses said, "Even if I bring to you clear evidence

Verse 31 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:31

Pharaoh said, "Produce it, then, if you are a man of truth

Verse 32 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:32

Moses then threw down his staff, and it became a veritable serpent

Verse 33 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:33

And he drew out his hand, and it appeared white to the beholders

Verse 34 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:34

Pharaoh said to the chieftains around him: "Indeed, this one is certainly an expert magician

Verse 35 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:35

He wants to drive you out of your land by his black magic. What, then, do you advise

Verse 36 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:36

They said, "Defer the decision on him and his brother, and send callers to cities and towns

Verse 37 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:37

They will bring to you all expert magicians

Verse 38 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:38

And so the magicians were assembled for public show at a set time on a certain day

Verse 39 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:39

And the people were asked, "Are you all gathered here

Verse 40 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:40

So that we might cheer the magicians if it is they who prevail

Verse 41 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:41

So when the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh, "Are we not indeed entitled certainly to a reward if it is we who prevail

Verse 42 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:42

Pharaoh said, "Of course! And, indeed, in that case you shall be among those who are near to me

Verse 43 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:43

Moses said to them: "Cast down whatever you were to cast

Verse 44 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:44

Then they did cast down their ropes and their staffs, and said, "By Pharaoh's honour, behold, it is we certainly who shall prevail

Verse 45 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:45

And then Moses threw his staff. And lo! It swallowed up all their deceptions

Verse 46 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:46

And the magicians fell down in prostration

Verse 47 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:47

They said: "We believe in the Lord of the worlds

Verse 48 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:48

The Lord of Moses and Aaron

Verse 49 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:49

Pharaoh said, "You believe him before I permit you? Indeed, he must be your master who has taught you magic! But you shall certainly come to know who the master is. I shall certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and shall certainly crucify you, all together

Verse 50 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:50

The magicians said, "No matter! We shall indeed return to our Lord

Verse 51 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:51

We do indeed ardently desire that our Lord forgive us our faults now that we have been among the foremost to believe

Verse 52 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:52

And We conveyed to Moses Allah's instructions, "Leave with My devotees (Children of Israel) by night. You will he pursued (by Pharaoh's army)

Verse 53 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:53

And then Pharaoh sent heralds to all cities/towns

Verse 54 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:54

These [Children of Israel] are but a small gang

Verse 55 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:55

And they have surely enraged us

Verse 56 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:56

And we are indeed a vigilant multitude

Verse 57 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:57

And so We made them (Pharaoh's people) come out of gardens and springs

Verse 58 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:58

And We made them (Pharaoh's people) leave their treasures and places of honour

Verse 59 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:59

And [in course of time] We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things

Verse 60 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:60

Then they [Pharaoh's men] went in pursuit of them (Children of Israel) eastwards

Verse 61 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:61

Then as the two groups of people (Moses' and Pharaoh's) came in sight of each other, Moses' people exclaimed: "We are indeed certainly overtaken

Verse 62 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:62

Moses said, "No! My Lord is with me. HE will guide me

Verse 63 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:63

We then inspired Moses to strike the sea with his staff. The sea thereupon parted, and each part appeared like a vast mountain

Verse 64 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:64

And We drew the other party (Pharaoh's people) near thereto

Verse 65 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:65

And We saved Moses and all who were with him

Verse 66 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:66

And then We drowned the others

Verse 67 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:67

Therein indeed was a sign. And yet most of them would not believe

Verse 68 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:68

And, indeed, your Lord is certainly the One Omnipotent, Merciful

Verse 69 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:69

And recite to them the story of Abraham

Verse 70 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:70

When he asked his father and his people, "What is it this that you worship

Verse 71 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:71

They said, "We worship idols, and we bow down to them in devotion

Verse 72 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:72

Abraham asked, "Do these hear you when you invoke them

Verse 73 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:73

Or do they give you any benefit or any harm

Verse 74 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:74

Abraham's people said, "But we found our forefathers doing the same

Verse 75 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:75

Abraham asked, "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping

Verse 76 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:76

You and those ancient forebears of yours

Verse 77 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:77

And, indeed, these are enemies to me, but not the Lord of the worlds

Verse 78 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:78

The Lord Who created me and Who then has guided me

Verse 79 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:79

And Who gives me food and drink

Verse 80 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:80

And, when I fall ill, Who cures me

Verse 81 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:81

And Who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life

Verse 82 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:82

And Who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the Day of Judgment

Verse 83 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:83

My Lord! grant me wisdom, and put me with the righteous

Verse 84 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:84

And create a good name for me among the later generations

Verse 85 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:85

And place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss

Verse 86 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:86

And forgive my father! He is indeed among those who have gone astray

Verse 87 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:87

And put me not to shame on the Day of Resurrection

Verse 88 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:88

The Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children

Verse 89 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:89

Except for a mind free of evil with which one comes before Allah

Verse 90 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:90

And the Garden (Paradise) will be brought near for those who had spent their worldly lives within the parameters laid down by Allah

Verse 91 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:91

And the Hell will be laid open before those who had allowed themselves to be seduced

Verse 92 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:92

And they will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped

Verse 93 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:93

Those, other than Allah, you worshipped? Can those be of any help to you or to themselves

Verse 94 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:94

They will then be hurled into hell — they, as well as those who had seduced them

Verse 95 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:95

And the army of Iblees (the Satan) - all together

Verse 96 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:96

They will, blaming one another, say

Verse 97 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:97

By Allah, we were indeed certainly in clear delusion

Verse 98 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:98

When we deemed you equal to the Lord of all the worlds

Verse 99 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:99

And they who led us astray are none but the culprits

Verse 100 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:100

And now we have none to intercede for us

Verse 101 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:101

We have no anxious friend either

Verse 102 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:102

If only we had a return [to worldly life], so we could be among the believers

Verse 103 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:103

There is indeed a sign in this, and most of them believe not

Verse 104 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:104

And, indeed, your Lord — He alone — is the Omnipotent, the Merciful

Verse 105 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:105

Verse 107 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:107

I am indeed a trustworthy Messenger of Allah sent to you

Verse 108 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:108

Be, then, afraid of Allah, and obey me

Verse 109 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:109

And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Lord of the worlds

Verse 110 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:110

Be afraid of Allah then, and obey me

Verse 111 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:111

Verse 112 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:112

He said, "And what do I know what work they do

Verse 113 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:113

It is for none but Allah to make them account for what they do, if you could but understand this

Verse 114 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:114

And I am not one to drive away the believers

Verse 115 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:115

I am but a plain warner

Verse 116 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:116

They said, "If you desist not, O Noah, you will certainly be stoned to death

Verse 117 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:117

Noah said, "My Lord! Indeed, my people do not believe in me

Verse 118 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:118

Do settle then the matter between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me

Verse 119 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:119

We then saved him and those with him in the fully-laden Ark

Verse 120 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:120

And We caused the rest thereafter to drown

Verse 121 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:121

Verse 126 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:126

Be afraid of Allah then, and obey me

Verse 127 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:127

And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Lord of the worlds

Verse 128 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:128

Would you wantonly build something on every elevated place

Verse 129 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:129

And have strongly built structures to live therein forever

Verse 130 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:130

And when you control, you control cruelly

Verse 131 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:131

Be afraid of Allah then, and obey me

Verse 132 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:132

And be afraid of Him who helped you with what you know

Verse 133 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:133

Helped you with cattle and children

Verse 134 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:134

And gardens and springs

Verse 135 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:135

I do indeed fear that punishment of a dreadful Day may befall you

This is nothing but practice/custom of the earlier peoples

Verse 138 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:138

Be afraid of Allah then, and obey me

Verse 145 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:145

And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Lord of the worlds

Verse 146 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:146

Will you be left secure among things here

Verse 147 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:147

Amidst gardens and springs

Verse 148 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:148

And fields, and palm-trees with slender stalks

And do her no harm, lest punishment of a dreadful day befall you

Verse 167 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:167

Lot said, "I am indeed one of those who deplore your actions

Verse 169 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:169

My Lord! Save me and my family from all that they are doing

Verse 170 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:170

Thereupon We saved him and all his entire family

Verse 171 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:171

Except for an old woman, who was among those left behind

Verse 172 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:172

And then We annihilated the others

Verse 173 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:173

And We rained down upon them a rain. Dire then is such rain upon those warned

Verse 174 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:174

Give full measure, and be not among those who cause loss to others

Verse 182 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:182

And weigh with a true balance

Verse 183 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:183

And defraud not people of their things. And make no mischief on earth, spreading corruption

Verse 184 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:184

Verse 186 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:186

And you are but a man like us! And we do think you are a liar

Verse 187 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:187

Drop fragments of the sky upon us, then, if what you say is the truth

Verse 188 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:188

And, indeed, your Lord — He alone — is the Omnipotent, the Merciful

Verse 192 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:192

And, indeed, this [Qur'aan] has certainly been sent down by the Lord of the worlds

Verse 193 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:193

The trustworthy Spirit (Angel Gabriel) came down with it

Verse 194 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:194

Upon your mind, [O Muhammad], so that you may be among those who warn

Verse 195 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:195

In the language of plain Arabic

Verse 196 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:196

And, indeed, it is mentioned in the ancient Scriptures

Verse 197 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:197

Is it not a sign for them that learned men from among the Children of Israel do know it

Verse 198 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:198

And had We sent it down upon any non-Arab

Verse 199 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:199

And had he recited it to them in his own language, they would not have believed in it

Verse 200 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:200

We have likewise caused this Message to pass through the minds of those who are lost in sin

Verse 201 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:201

They will not believe in it (the Message) till they see the grievous punishment

Verse 202 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:202

That (punishment) will come upon them all of a sudden, without notice

Verse 203 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:203

And then they will say, "Could we have some respite

Verse 204 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:204

Do they, then, wish to hasten Our punishment

Verse 205 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:205

Do you see that if We do allow them to enjoy for years

Verse 206 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:206

And thereafter that which they were promised befalls them

Verse 207 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:207

Of what avail to them will all their past enjoyments be

Verse 208 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:208

And never have We destroyed any community without being warned

Verse 209 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:209

And reminded. And We wrong not

Verse 210 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:210

And the devils had not brought it (the Message) down

Verse 211 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:211

And neither it is suitable to them, nor can they do it

Verse 212 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:212

They are indeed certainly debarred from hearing it

Verse 213 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:213

Hence invoke no god other than Allah, lest you be among those ponished

Verse 214 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:214

And warn your close relatives

Verse 215 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:215

And lower wings of your tenderness over (be kind to) all of the believers who may follow you

Verse 216 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:216

If they then disobey you, say, "I am indeed free of responsibility for what you do

Verse 217 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:217

And put your trust in the Omnipotent, the Merciful

Verse 218 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:218

Who sees you standing

Verse 219 — Surah Ash-Shuara 26:219

And Who sees what goes on in your mind while you are among those who prostrate before Him
