English - Chapter 88 - Al-Ghashiyah

Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event

Faces that Day will be down

Wrought-up, weary

Burning in Fire intensely hot

Made to drink from a boiling hot spring

No food for them but of thorns

That neither nourishes nor satisfies hunger

Faces that Day will be blissful

Pleased with their efforts

Wherein no vain talk will you hear

Therein a fountain flowing

Therein thrones raised high

And cups placed conveniently

And cushions in rows

And carpets spread out

Do they not see how the cloud is created

And the sky, how it is raised high

And the mountains, how they are rooted

And the earth, how its surface is made

So recite the divine Verses to the people at large. Your only responsibility is to recite

You have no control over them

But he who turns back and suppresses the Truth

Allah will give him the greatest punishment

To Us indeed is their return

Then it is for Us to call them to account
