Verse 1 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:1
The Hour (The Arabic noun is feminine) has drawn near, and the moon (The Arabic noun is masculine) is cloven
Verse 2 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:2
And in case they see a sign, they veer away and say, "A continuous sorcery
Verse 3 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:3
And they have cried lies and closely followed their prejudices; and every Command is settled
Verse 4 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:4
And indeed there have already come to them such tidings wherein there is a scaring
Verse 5 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:5
A consummate Wisdom; yet in no way do warnings avail
Verse 6 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:6
So turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller will call to a highly maleficent thing
Verse 7 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:7
With most submissive be holdings, they will go out of the graves as if they were locusts spread abroad
Verse 8 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:8
With their heads protruding, (hurrying) to the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day
Verse 9 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:9
The people of Nuh (Noah) cried lies before them; so they cried lies to Our bondman and said, "A madman, " and he was scared
Verse 10 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:10
So, he invoked his Lord, (saying), "I am overcome, so vindicate me
Verse 11 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:11
Then We opened the gates of the heaven to torrential water
Verse 12 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:12
And We made the earth to erupt forth springs, so the waters met for a Command already estimated
Verse 13 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:13
And We carried him upon (an Ark), well planked and well caulked, (Literally: comprising planks and caulks, with nails)
Verse 14 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:14
Running under Our Eyes, a recompense for him who was disbelieved. (i.e., between the she-camel and them)
Verse 15 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:15
And indeed We have already left it for a sign. Is there then any that will recollect
Verse 16 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:16
How then were My torment and My warnings
Verse 17 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:17
And indeed We have already made the Qur'an easy for remembrance. Is there then any that will recollect
Verse 18 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:18
Aad cried lies. How then were My torment and My warnings
Verse 19 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:19
Surely We sent against them a most clamorous wind in a day of ill-luck, continuous
Verse 20 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:20
Plucking up mankind as if they were the stumps of uprooted palm-trees
Verse 21 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:21
How then were My torment and My warnings
Verse 22 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:22
And indeed We have already made the Qur'an easy for remembrance. Is there then any that will recollect
Verse 23 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:23
Thamud cried lies to the warnings
Verse 24 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:24
So they said, "Should we closely follow a mortal, one out of ourselves? Lo, surely we are indeed in error and insanity
Verse 25 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:25
Has the Remembrance been cast upon him (alone) from among us? No indeed, (but) he is an insolent liar
Verse 26 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:26
They will (soon) know tomorrow who is the insolent liar
Verse 27 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:27
Surely We are sending the she-camel as a temptation for them; so be on the watch for them and constantly (endure) patiently
Verse 28 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:28
And fully inform them that the water is to a (fair) division between them; (i.e., between the she-camel and them) each drinking is for each presented in turn
Verse 29 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:29
Then they called out their companion, so he took upon himself (the task); then he hamstrung her
Verse 30 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:30
How then were My torment and My warnings
Verse 31 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:31
Surely We sent against them one Shout; so they were as the chaff of a pen-builder
Verse 32 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:32
And indeed We have already made the Qur'an easy for remembrance. Is there then any that will recollect
Verse 33 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:33
The people of Lut (Lot) cried lies to the warnings
Verse 34 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:34
Surely We sent against them a (squall of) gravel, except the house of Lut; (LOt) We safely delivered them before dawn
Verse 35 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:35
A favor from Our Providence; thus We recompense him who thanks (Us)
Verse 36 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:36
And indeed he had warned them of Our assault, yet they wrangled about the warnings
Verse 37 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:37
And indeed they already solicited of him his guests, so We obliterated their eyes, (saying), "So taste My torment and My warnings
Verse 38 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:38
And indeed there already came upon them before sunrise a settled torment
Verse 39 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:39
So taste My torment and My warnings
Verse 40 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:40
And indeed We have already made the Qur'an easy for remembrance. Is there then any that will recollect
Verse 41 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:41
And indeed the warnings already came (also) to the house of Firaawn; (Pharaoh)
Verse 42 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:42
They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We took them (away) with the taking of an Ever-Mighty, Supreme Determiner
Verse 43 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:43
Are your steadfast disbelievers more charitable (3) than those ones? Or even do you have an acquittal (from torment) in the Zubur? (i.e., better)
Verse 44 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:44
Or do they say, "We, all together, will vindicate ourselves
Verse 45 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:45
Soon the gathering will be routed and (they) will turn their backs
Verse 46 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:46
No indeed, (but) the Hour is their appointment, and the Hour is more calamitous and more bitter
Verse 47 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:47
Surely the criminals are in error and insanity
Verse 48 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:48
The Day (when) they are pulled into the Fire on their faces, (It will be said), "Taste (now) the touch of Saqar!" (The Scorching Fire)
Verse 49 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:49
Surely We created everything by a determined estimate
Verse 50 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:50
And in no way is Our Command anything except one (Word), as the twinkling of the eye. (Literally: the power of beholding)
Verse 51 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:51
And indeed We have already caused your sects to perish; is there then any that will recollect
Verse 52 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:52
And everything they have performed is in the Zubur. (Scriptures)
Verse 53 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:53
And every small and great thing is judiciously inscribed
Verse 54 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:54
Surely the pious will (dwell) among Gardens and Rivers
Verse 55 — Surah Al-Qamar 54:55
In (secure) seat (s) of Sincerity, in the Providence of a Supreme Determiner, an Ever-Pervading King
