Verse 1 — Surah Nuh 71:1
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, “Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.”
Verse 2 — Surah Nuh 71:2
He said: “O my people, indeed I am a clear warner to you
Verse 3 — Surah Nuh 71:3
that you worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me
Verse 4 — Surah Nuh 71:4
He will forgive you some of your sins and grant you respite until an appointed term. Indeed, when Allah’s appointed term comes, it cannot be delayed, if you only knew!”
Verse 5 — Surah Nuh 71:5
He said, “My Lord, I have surely called my people night and day
Verse 6 — Surah Nuh 71:6
but my call only drove them further away
Verse 7 — Surah Nuh 71:7
Every time I call them so that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and cover their faces with their garments, and persist in obstinacy and grow extremely arrogant
Verse 8 — Surah Nuh 71:8
Then I called them openly
Verse 9 — Surah Nuh 71:9
then I addressed them in public and in private
Verse 10 — Surah Nuh 71:10
I said, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord. Indeed, He is Most Forgiving
Verse 11 — Surah Nuh 71:11
He will shower you with abundant rain from the sky
Verse 12 — Surah Nuh 71:12
and He will give you wealth and children, and bestow upon you gardens and rivers
Verse 13 — Surah Nuh 71:13
What is the matter with you that you do not fear the Majesty of Allah
Verse 14 — Surah Nuh 71:14
when He has created you in stages
Verse 15 — Surah Nuh 71:15
Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one above another
Verse 16 — Surah Nuh 71:16
and has placed the moon therein as a light and the sun as a burning lamp
Verse 17 — Surah Nuh 71:17
Allah has produced you from the earth like a plant
Verse 18 — Surah Nuh 71:18
then He will return you into it, and then will bring you out again
Verse 19 — Surah Nuh 71:19
Allah has made the earth wide spread for you
Verse 20 — Surah Nuh 71:20
so that you may tread its spacious paths.’”
Verse 21 — Surah Nuh 71:21
Noah said, “My Lord, they have disobeyed me and followed those whose wealth and children did not increase them except in loss
Verse 22 — Surah Nuh 71:22
They have contrived a mighty plot
Verse 23 — Surah Nuh 71:23
They said, ‘Do not abandon your gods; and do not abandon Wadd, Suwā‘, Yaghūth, Ya‘ūq, and Nasr.’
Verse 24 — Surah Nuh 71:24
They have led many astray. So [O Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error.”
Verse 25 — Surah Nuh 71:25
Because of their sins they were drowned and then were cast into the Fire, and they did not find any helpers against Allah
Verse 26 — Surah Nuh 71:26
Noah said, “My Lord, do not leave on earth a single disbeliever
Verse 27 — Surah Nuh 71:27
For if You leave them, they will surely lead Your slaves astray and beget none but wicked disbelievers
Verse 28 — Surah Nuh 71:28
My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and whoever enters my house as a believer, and all the believing men and women, and do not increase the wrongdoers except in ruin.”
