Verse 1 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:1
By the dawn
Verse 2 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:2
and the ten nights
Verse 3 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:3
and the even and the odd
Verse 4 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:4
and by the night when it comes
Verse 5 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:5
are these oaths not sufficient for those who have sense
Verse 6 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:6
Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ‘Ād
Verse 7 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:7
of Iram, who were people of great stature
Verse 8 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:8
the like of whom had never been created in the land
Verse 9 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:9
and Thamūd, who carved out the rocks in the Valley
Verse 10 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:10
and the mighty and powerful Pharaoh
Verse 11 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:11
All of them transgressed in the land
Verse 12 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:12
and spread therein much corruption
Verse 13 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:13
so your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment
Verse 14 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:14
Indeed, your Lord is ever vigilant
Verse 15 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:15
As for man, when he is tested by his Lord by honoring him and bestowing blessings upon him, he says, “My Lord has [deservedly] honored me!”
Verse 16 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:16
But when he is tested by restricting his provision, he says, “My Lord has [undeservedly] humiliated me!”
Verse 17 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:17
No indeed! You are not kind to the orphan
Verse 18 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:18
nor do you urge one another to feed the needy
Verse 19 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:19
and you greedily consume the entire inheritance
Verse 20 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:20
and love wealth immensely
Verse 21 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:21
No indeed! When the earth is crushed over and over
Verse 22 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:22
and your Lord comes with the angels, rank after rank
Verse 23 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:23
and Hell is brought near on that Day – this is when man will understand, but what is the use of that understanding
Verse 24 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:24
He will say, “Would that I had sent forth something for my [eternal] life!”
Verse 25 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:25
None can punish as He punishes on that Day
Verse 26 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:26
and none can bind as He binds
Verse 27 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:27
[It will be said to the believer,] “O the tranquil soul
Verse 28 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:28
Return to your Lord, well pleased and pleasing [to Him]
Verse 29 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:29
Join My [righteous] slaves
Verse 30 — Surah Al-Fajr 89:30
and enter My Paradise.”
