Truly thine shall be a reward unceasing

Verse 4 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:4

And truly thou art of an exalted character

Verse 5 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:5

So thou wilt see and they will see

Verse 6 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:6

which of you is afflicted

Verse 7 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:7

Truly thy Lord knows best those who stray from His way, and He knows best those who are rightly guided

so obey not the deniers

Verse 9 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:9

slanderer spreading calumny

Verse 12 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:12

hinderer of good, a transgressing sinner

Verse 13 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:13

churlish, surly, and ignoble withal—

Verse 14 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:14

simply because he possesses wealth and children

Verse 15 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:15

When Our signs are recited unto him he says, “Fables of those of old.”

Verse 16 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:16

We shall brand him on the snout

Verse 17 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:17

Truly We tried them, just as We tried the owners of the garden who vowed that they would harvest its fruit in the morning

Verse 18 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:18

And they made no exception

Verse 19 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:19

Whereupon a visitation from your Lord came upon it while they slept

Verse 20 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:20

such that it became like a garden plucked

Verse 21 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:21

Then they called to one another in the morning

Verse 22 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:22

“Go early to your tillage if you would harvest.”

Verse 23 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:23

So they set forth while whispering to one another

Verse 24 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:24

“Surely no indigent shall come to you therein today.”

Verse 25 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:25

And they set out early, strong in their purpose

Verse 26 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:26

Then when they saw it, they said, “Surely, we are astray

Verse 27 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:27

Nay! we are deprived!”

Verse 28 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:28

The most moderate of them said, “Did I not say to you, why do you not glorify?”

Verse 29 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:29

They said, “Glory be to our Lord! Truly we were wrongdoers.”

Verse 30 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:30

Then they turned to one another, reproaching each other

Verse 31 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:31

saying, “Oh, woe unto us! Truly we were rebellious

Verse 32 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:32

Perhaps our Lord will give us something better in its stead. Truly we beseech our Lord.”

Verse 33 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:33

Such is the punishment; yet the punishment of the Hereafter is surely greater, if they but knew

Verse 34 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:34

Truly for the reverent there shall be Gardens of bliss in the presence of their Lord

Verse 35 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:35

Are We then to treat the submitters like the guilty

Verse 36 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:36

What ails you? How do you judge

Verse 37 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:37

Or do you have a book wherein you learn

Verse 38 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:38

that you shall have therein whatsoever you choose

Verse 39 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:39

Or do you have oaths binding upon Us until the Day of Resurrection that you shall have whatever you ordain

Verse 40 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:40

Ask them which of them shall vouch for that

Verse 41 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:41

Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners if they are truthful

Verse 42 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:42

On the Day when the shank is laid bare and they are called to prostrate, yet are not able

Verse 43 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:43

their eyes humbled, abasement shall overcome them; for they had indeed been called to prostrate while they were yet sound

Verse 44 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:44

So leave Me with those who deny this discourse. We shall lead them on little by little, whence they know not

Verse 45 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:45

And I shall grant them respite; truly My scheme is firm

Verse 46 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:46

Or dost thou ask a reward of them, such that they are burdened with debt

Verse 47 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:47

Or do they possess the Unseen, such that they write it down

Verse 48 — Surah Al-Qalam 68:48
