Verse 1 — Surah Nuh 71:1

Truly We sent Noah to his people, “Warn thy people before a painful punishment comes upon them.”

Verse 2 — Surah Nuh 71:2

He said, “O my people! I am a clear warner unto you

Verse 3 — Surah Nuh 71:3

that you may worship God, reverence Him, and obey me

Verse 4 — Surah Nuh 71:4

that He may forgive you some of your sins and grant you reprieve until a term appointed. Truly when the term of God comes, it will not be delayed, if you but knew.”

Verse 5 — Surah Nuh 71:5

He said, “My Lord, I have called my people day and night

Verse 6 — Surah Nuh 71:6

Yet my calling has not increased them in aught but flight

Verse 7 — Surah Nuh 71:7

Truly whenever I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, persist, and wax most arrogant

Verse 8 — Surah Nuh 71:8

Then I called them openly

Verse 9 — Surah Nuh 71:9

Then I proclaimed to them and confided to them in secret

Verse 10 — Surah Nuh 71:10

I said, ‘Seek forgiveness of your Lord! Truly He is Forgiving

Verse 11 — Surah Nuh 71:11

He will send the sky upon you with abundant rains

Verse 12 — Surah Nuh 71:12

support you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens and rivers

Verse 13 — Surah Nuh 71:13

What ails you that you do not hope for God with dignity

Verse 14 — Surah Nuh 71:14

seeing that He has created you in stages

Verse 15 — Surah Nuh 71:15

Have you not considered how God created the seven heavens one upon another

Verse 16 — Surah Nuh 71:16

and made the moon a light therein and made the sun a lamp

Verse 17 — Surah Nuh 71:17

And God made you grow forth from the earth like plants

Verse 18 — Surah Nuh 71:18

Then He will cause you to return to it and bring you forth again

Verse 19 — Surah Nuh 71:19

And God made the earth an open expanse for you

Verse 20 — Surah Nuh 71:20

that you may travel spacious paths therein.’”

Verse 21 — Surah Nuh 71:21

Noah said, “My Lord they disobeyed me and followed those whose wealth and children increase them in naught but loss.”

Verse 22 — Surah Nuh 71:22

And they devised a mighty plot

Verse 23 — Surah Nuh 71:23

saying, “Do not leave your gods; do not leave Wadd or Suwa?, or Yaguth, Ya?uq, or Nasr.”

Verse 24 — Surah Nuh 71:24

Many indeed have they led astray; and it increases the wrongdoers in naught but error

Verse 25 — Surah Nuh 71:25

Because of their iniquities they were drowned, then made to enter a Fire. And then they found no helpers for themselves apart from God

Verse 26 — Surah Nuh 71:26

Noah said, “My Lord, leave not a single disbeliever to dwell upon the earth

Verse 27 — Surah Nuh 71:27

Truly if you leave them, they will mislead Thy servants and will beget naught but disbelieving profligates

Verse 28 — Surah Nuh 71:28

My Lord, forgive me and my parents, whosoever enters my house as a believer, and the believing men and the believing women, and do not increase the wrongdoers in aught but ruin.”
