How to Read Quran in Your Language? Al Quran Multilingual is Here

How to Read Quran in Your Language? Al Quran Multilingual is Here
Reading the Holy Quran in a language you understand is one of the most transformative spiritual experiences. Yet millions of Muslims worldwide struggle because they don't read Arabic fluently. The good news? Al Quran Multilingual brings the divine message to your language—whether you speak Tamil, Urdu, English, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, or 90+ other languages.
This comprehensive guide explores the Quran's history, structure, and features, and shows how our app makes Quranic learning accessible to everyone, everywhere—completely free and ad-free.
The History of the Quran: From Revelation to Preservation
Divine Revelation (610–632 CE)
The Noble Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ over 23 years through the angel Jibreel (Gabriel). The revelations addressed:
- Beliefs (Tawhid, Prophethood, Afterlife)
- Worship (Salah, Zakat, Fasting, Hajj)
- Moral guidance (justice, honesty, family ethics)
- Legal principles (inheritance, contracts, justice)
Memorization and Writing
From the very beginning:
- Companions memorized verses as they were revealed
- Scribes wrote on palm leaves, stones, bones, and parchment
- The Prophet ﷺ verified every verse and ordered their arrangement
Compilation Under Abu Bakr (632–634 CE)
After the Battle of Yamama, where many Quran memorizers (Huffaz) were martyred, Abu Bakr (RA) ordered the first complete written compilation under Zaid ibn Thabit (RA). All scattered written fragments were collected and verified against living memorizers.
Standardization Under Uthman (644–656 CE)
As Islam spread, slight dialectical variations in recitation emerged. Uthman (RA) ordered:
- A standardized copy based on the Quraishi dialect (the Prophet's ﷺ original tongue)
- Multiple copies sent to major cities (Makkah, Madinah, Kufa, Basra, Damascus)
- All non-standard copies destroyed to preserve unity
This Uthmanic codex is the exact same text Muslims read today—unchanged for 1,400+ years.
Was There Any Type of Quran? One Book, Multiple Recitations
Only One Quran Text
No. There is only one Quran in terms of text. The Uthmanic codex has remained unchanged.
Seven Modes (Qira'at) of Recitation
However, the Quran was revealed in seven ahruf (modes/dialects) to accommodate different Arab tribes. Today, scholars recognize ten canonical Qira'at (recitation styles), with Hafs an Asim being the most widespread.
Key Point:
- The words and meaning remain identical
- Only pronunciation, elongation, and pauses differ slightly
- All are authentic and traced back to the Prophet ﷺ
Al Quran Multilingual uses the Hafs recitation, which 90%+ of Muslims worldwide follow.
What Are Manzils? The Seven-Day Division
Manzils are seven equal divisions of the Quran, designed to help Muslims complete the entire Quran in one week.
The 7 Manzils
| Manzil | Starts From | Ends At | Surahs Covered |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Surah Al-Fatihah (1:1) | Surah An-Nisa (4:147) | 1–4 |
| 2 | Surah An-Nisa (4:148) | Surah Al-An'am (6:165) | 4–6 |
| 3 | Surah Al-A'raf (7:1) | Surah At-Tawbah (9:93) | 7–9 |
| 4 | Surah At-Tawbah (9:94) | Surah An-Nahl (16:128) | 9–16 |
| 5 | Surah Al-Isra (17:1) | Surah Al-Furqan (25:77) | 17–25 |
| 6 | Surah Ash-Shu'ara (26:1) | Surah Ya-Sin (36:83) | 26–36 |
| 7 | Surah As-Saffat (37:1) | Surah An-Nas (114:6) | 37–114 |
Usage:
- Read one Manzil per day to complete the Quran weekly
- Popular during Ramadan for consistent recitation schedules
Available in Al Quran Multilingual: Navigate directly to any Manzil with one tap.
Sajdah in the Quran: Meaning, Significance, and Benefits
What is Sajdah-e-Tilawat?
Sajdah-e-Tilawat (Prostration of Recitation) is a special prostration performed when you recite or hear specific verses commanding prostration to Allah.
Significance
These verses describe:
- Allah's majesty and creation
- Angels prostrating before Allah
- Natural phenomena glorifying Allah (sun, moon, stars, trees)
When believers encounter these verses, they physically prostrate as an act of humility, submission, and worship.
Benefits
- Spiritual humility – Acknowledges Allah's greatness
- Physical worship – Engages body and soul
- Increased reward – Following Prophetic Sunnah
- Connection with angels – Joining celestial beings in worship
The 14 Confirmed Sajdah Locations
Note: Some scholars count 15 Sajdahs (including Surah Sad 38:24), while others count 14. The Hanafi school considers Sad's Sajdah as recommended rather than obligatory.
In Al Quran Multilingual: All Sajdah verses are clearly marked with a prostration icon for easy identification.
