purify your clothes

that Day will be a very difficult Day

not easy for the disbelievers
Verse 11 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:11
Leave Me and the one (Walid bin Mughirah, a staunch opponent of the Prophet) whom I created, alone
Verse 12 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:12
I gave him abundant resources
Verse 13 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:13
thriving sons
Verse 14 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:14
and made his life smooth and comfortable
Verse 15 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:15
Yet he hopes that I shall give him more
Verse 16 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:16
By no means! Because he has stubbornly denied Our revelations

He looked around
Verse 22 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:22
frowned and scowled
Verse 23 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:23
then he turned his back in scornful pride
Verse 24 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:24
and said: "This is nothing but a magic from the old
Verse 25 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:25
this is nothing but the word of a human being
Verse 26 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:26
Soon I shall cast him into Saqar
Verse 27 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:27
What will make you understand, what Saqar is
Verse 28 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:28
It is burning fire which leaves nothing and spares none
Verse 29 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:29
It shrivels human flesh
Verse 30 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:30
It is guarded by nineteen guards
Verse 31 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:31
We have appointed none but angels as wardens of the fire; and We have made their number a trial for the unbelievers, so that the People of the Book may be convinced and the faith of the true believers may be increased, and that no doubts will be left for the People of the Book and the believers, and that those in whose hearts there is a disease and the disbelievers may say: "What could Allah mean by this parable?" Thus, Allah leaves to stray whom He wills and guides whom He pleases. No one knows the forces of your Lord except Himself, and this (Qur'an) is nothing but a reminder to mankind
Verse 32 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:32
Nay! By the moon
Verse 33 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:33
by the departing night
Verse 34 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:34
and by the coming of dawn
Verse 35 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:35
surely this hellfire is one of mighty scourge
Verse 36 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:36
a warning to mankind
Verse 37 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:37
to any of you who chooses to go forward or to lag behind
Verse 38 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:38
Every soul is held in pledge for its deeds
Verse 39 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:39
except the people of the right hand
Verse 40 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:40
who shall be in paradise. They will ask
Verse 41 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:41
from the culprits
Verse 42 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:42
What brought you into hell
Verse 43 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:43
They will answer: "We did not use to offer the Salah (prayers)
Verse 44 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:44
we did not use to feed the poor
Verse 45 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:45
we used to join those who wasted their time in vain talk
Verse 46 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:46
and we used to deny the Day of Judgment
Verse 47 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:47
until death overtook us
Verse 48 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:48
On that Day, no intercession of any intercessors shall profit them
Verse 49 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:49

Like frightened donkeys
Verse 51 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:51
fleeing from a lion
Verse 52 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:52
Nay, each of them wants a scripture of his own to be unrolled before them
Verse 53 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:53
But no! The fact is that they do not fear the Hereafter
Verse 54 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:54
But no! Surely this Qur’an is an admonition
Verse 55 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:55
Let him who wills take heed
Verse 56 — Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:56
But none takes heed except by the will of Allah. He Alone is worthy to be feared and He Alone is worthy to forgive those who fear Him
