Verse 1 — Surah An-Najm 53:1
By the star when it perishes
Verse 2 — Surah An-Najm 53:2
Neither is your comrade [Prophet Muhammad] astray, nor has he deviated
Verse 3 — Surah An-Najm 53:3
And he speaks not for attaining any personal desire
Verse 4 — Surah An-Najm 53:4
It is nothing but revelation divinely revealed
Verse 5 — Surah An-Najm 53:5
Imparted to him by One [Angel] mighty in power
Verse 6 — Surah An-Najm 53:6
[The Angel] capable of passing [quickly from one form to another]. And he rose
Verse 7 — Surah An-Najm 53:7
And he was on the high horizon
Verse 8 — Surah An-Najm 53:8
Then he drew near, and came down
Verse 9 — Surah An-Najm 53:9
To be within a distance of two bow-lengths
Verse 10 — Surah An-Najm 53:10
And He then revealed to His devotee [Muhammad] what He revealed
Verse 11 — Surah An-Najm 53:11
The mind lied not what it saw
Verse 12 — Surah An-Najm 53:12
Would you then be engaged in an argument with him over what he saw
Verse 13 — Surah An-Najm 53:13
And he [Muhammad] did see him [Angel] descend another time
Verse 14 — Surah An-Najm 53:14
Near Sidrat [a kind of tree] at the farthest frontier
Verse 15 — Surah An-Najm 53:15
Near it [Sidrat] is the Garden Abode [Paradise]
Verse 16 — Surah An-Najm 53:16
When what covers the Sidr covered it
Verse 17 — Surah An-Najm 53:17
The sight swerved not, nor did it transgress
Verse 18 — Surah An-Najm 53:18
He did see some of the great signs of his Lord
Verse 19 — Surah An-Najm 53:19
See you the Lat and the`Uzza
Verse 20 — Surah An-Najm 53:20
And Manat, the third, besides
Verse 21 — Surah An-Najm 53:21
Are the males for you and for Him the females
Verse 22 — Surah An-Najm 53:22
This then is an unfair division
Verse 23 — Surah An-Najm 53:23
They are but names you have given them — you and your fathers! Allah has sent no authority for them. They follow but conjecture and what they themselves desire. And, surely, the guidance from their Lord has come to them
Verse 24 — Surah An-Najm 53:24
Or, is it ordained that man does [always] have what he wishes
Verse 25 — Surah An-Najm 53:25
To Allah then belong the Hereafter and the present
Verse 26 — Surah An-Najm 53:26
And how many angels are there in the heavens whose intercession shall be of no avail, unless and until it be by Allah's permission and pleasure in regard to those whom He wishes
Verse 27 — Surah An-Najm 53:27
Those, indeed, who do not believe in the Hereafter give angels female names
Verse 28 — Surah An-Najm 53:28
And they have no knowledge thereon [on creation of angels]. They but follow their conjecture and conjecture can avail nothing indeed against the Truth
Verse 29 — Surah An-Najm 53:29
So keep away from those who turn away from remembering Us and who seek nothing but the life of this world
Verse 30 — Surah An-Najm 53:30
That [life of this world] is all they know! Indeed it is your Lord Who knows those who have strayed away from His Path and it is He Who knows those who are guided
Verse 31 — Surah An-Najm 53:31
And To Allah belong all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth to requite the evil- doers for their deeds and to requite those who have done good deeds with a good reward
Verse 32 — Surah An-Najm 53:32
Those who avoid grave sins and shameful deeds, lesser offences notwithstanding — for those indeed your Lord abounds in forgiveness. He knows you since He raised you from the earth, and while you were unseen inside your mothersԠwombs. Consider yourselves not then as pure and highly born! He knows those that are pious
Verse 33 — Surah An-Najm 53:33
Have you seen the person that turns away (from Allah's Path)
Verse 34 — Surah An-Najm 53:34
And he/she gives a little, and then stops
Verse 35 — Surah An-Najm 53:35
Does he have any knowledge of the Unseen, and is so aware of it
Verse 36 — Surah An-Najm 53:36
Is he not informed of what is there in the Scripture of Moses
Verse 37 — Surah An-Najm 53:37
And of Abraham, who was true to his word
Verse 38 — Surah An-Najm 53:38
That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another
Verse 39 — Surah An-Najm 53:39
And that man gets nothing but what he strives for
Verse 40 — Surah An-Najm 53:40
And that his striving shall be [critically] seen
Verse 41 — Surah An-Najm 53:41
And then he shall be fully compensated
Verse 42 — Surah An-Najm 53:42
And that to your Lord is the End
Verse 43 — Surah An-Najm 53:43
And that He it is Who makes people laugh and cry
Verse 44 — Surah An-Najm 53:44
And that He it is Who causes death and gives life
Verse 45 — Surah An-Najm 53:45
And He it is Who created the couple of the male and the female
Verse 46 — Surah An-Najm 53:46
From fertilized ovum as and when [divinely] decreed.h
Verse 47 — Surah An-Najm 53:47
And that He has ordained tne second life [for mankind in the Hereafter] to be obligatory upon Himself
Verse 48 — Surah An-Najm 53:48
And that He is the One self-sufficient and self-preserving
Verse 49 — Surah An-Najm 53:49
And that He is the Lord of Siriush
Verse 50 — Surah An-Najm 53:50
And that He it is Who destroyed the ancient people of AAad
Verse 51 — Surah An-Najm 53:51
And Thamood [another ancient people], leaving no trace of them
Verse 52 — Surah An-Najm 53:52
And the people of Noah before them! They were all wicked people transgressing Allah- laden bounds
Verse 53 — Surah An-Najm 53:53
And He destroyed the overturned cities [of the people of Lot]
Verse 54 — Surah An-Najm 53:54
And He covered them with what He covered.h
Verse 55 — Surah An-Najm 53:55
So, which of your Lordճ means of power will you doubt
Verse 56 — Surah An-Najm 53:56
It is a warning among the warnings of yore
Verse 57 — Surah An-Najm 53:57
The approaching [Hour] has drawn near
Verse 58 — Surah An-Najm 53:58
None other than Allah can avert it
Verse 59 — Surah An-Najm 53:59
Do you, then, wonder at what has been told to you here
Verse 60 — Surah An-Najm 53:60
Will you laugh at it and not weep
Verse 61 — Surah An-Najm 53:61
And you remain heedlessly engrossed in merriment
Verse 62 — Surah An-Najm 53:62
You should [rather] prostrate to Allah, and worship Him
