Translation by Rowwad Translation Center
Verse 1
O you covered [in your cloak]
Verse 2
arise and warn
Verse 3
and proclaim the greatness of your Lord
Verse 4
and purify your garments
Verse 5
and shun idol worshiping
Verse 6
and do not do a favor for a greater return
Verse 7
and be patient for the sake of your Lord
Verse 8
When the Trumpet is sounded
Verse 9
that Day will be a difficult day
Verse 10
not easy for the disbelievers
Verse 11
Leave me alone to deal with the one whom I created
Verse 12
and gave him abundant wealth
Verse 13
and sons by his side
Verse 14
and gave him a life of comfort and power
Verse 15
yet he aspires that I should give him more
Verse 16
By no means! For he has been stubborn against Our verses
Verse 17
I will subject him to an unbearable punishment
Verse 18
For he reflected and plotted [against the Qur’an]
Verse 19
May he perish, how he plotted
Verse 20
Again, may he perish, how he plotted
Verse 21
Then he looked around
Verse 22
then he frowned and scowled
Verse 23
then turned away with arrogance
Verse 24
then said, “This is nothing but magic from the past
Verse 25
This is nothing but the words of a man.”
Verse 26
Soon I will make him burn in the Scorching Fire
Verse 27
How do you know what Scorching Fire is
Verse 28
It leaves nothing and spares no one
Verse 29
scorching the skin
Verse 30
It is overseen by nineteen [angels]
Verse 31
We have only appointed angels as keepers of the Fire, and We have only made their number as a test for the disbelievers, so that those who were given the Scripture may have certainty and the believers may increase in faith; and neither those who were given the Scripture nor the believers may have any doubts; and so that those [hypocrites] in whose hearts is sickness and the disbelievers may say, “What does Allah mean by this number?” Thus Allah causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and none knows the soldiers of your Lord but He. This is but a reminder to mankind
Verse 32
No indeed! By the moon
Verse 33
and by the night when it departs
Verse 34
and by the dawn when it brightens
Verse 35
Hellfire is indeed one of the greatest matters
Verse 36
a warning to mankind
Verse 37
to whoever among you chooses to advance or regress
Verse 38
Every soul is held in pledge for its deeds
Verse 39
except the People of the Right
Verse 40
who will be in gardens, asking one another
Verse 41
about the wicked
Verse 42
“What brought you to Hell?”
Verse 43
They will say, “We were not among those who prayed
Verse 44
nor did we feed the poor
Verse 45
and we indulged in falsehood along with those who indulged in it
Verse 46
and we denied the Day of Judgment
Verse 47
until the certainty [of death] came to us.”
Verse 48
So the intercession of intercessors will not benefit them
Verse 49
Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from the Reminder
Verse 50
as if they were terrified wild asses
Verse 51
fleeing from a lion
Verse 52
In fact, each one of them desires that open [divine] letters be sent to each of them
Verse 53
By no means! They rather do not fear the Hereafter
Verse 54
No indeed! This [Qur’an] is a reminder
Verse 55
So whoever wills may take heed
Verse 56
But they will not take heed unless Allah so wills. He is most worthy to be feared and most worthy to forgive
