Verse 1
He frowned and turned away
Verse 2
when the blind man came to him
Verse 3
How would you know? Perhaps he might be purified
Verse 4
or he might take heed and benefit from the reminder
Verse 5
But he who was indifferent
Verse 6
you give him your full attention
Verse 7
although you are not to be blamed if he does not purify himself
Verse 8
But as for the one who came to you striving [for purification]
Verse 9
and he fears Allah
Verse 10
you let yourself to be distracted from him
Verse 11
No indeed; this is a reminder –
Verse 12
so whoever wills may give heed to it –
Verse 13
on venerable pages
Verse 14
exalted and purified
Verse 15
[preserved] in the hands of angel-scribes
Verse 16
honorable and obedient
Verse 17
Woe to man; how ungrateful he is
Verse 18
From what did He create him
Verse 19
He created him from a drop of semen and proportioned him
Verse 20
then He made the way easy for him
Verse 21
then He caused him to die and be buried
Verse 22
then when He wills, He will resurrect him
Verse 23
Yet he has not fulfilled what He commanded him
Verse 24
Let man consider the food he eats
Verse 25
How We poured down rainwater in torrents
Verse 26
and caused the soil to split open [for sprouts]
Verse 27
and cause grains to grow in it
Verse 28
as well as grapes and fodder
Verse 29
and olive trees and date palms
Verse 30
and dense orchards
Verse 31
and fruits and grass
Verse 32
as provision for you and your livestock
Verse 33
But when the Deafening Blast comes
Verse 34
on that Day everyone will flee from his sibling
Verse 35
and from his mother and father
Verse 36
and from his wife and children
Verse 37
On that day, everyone will have enough concern of his own
Verse 38
On that Day, some faces will be bright
Verse 39
cheerful and rejoicing
Verse 40
while other faces will be dust-stained
Verse 41
covered in darkness
Verse 42
Such are the disbelievers, the wicked
