    Translation by Safi Kaskas

    Verse 1

Exalted is He who has all Sovereignty in His Hand, who has power over all things

He who created death and life to test you as to which of you is best in deed. He is the Almighty, the Forgiving

    Verse 3

it is He who created seven heavens in total harmony with one another. You will not see any discrepancy in the creation of the Merciful-to-all. Look again, do you see any gaps

    Verse 4

Then look again, and again, and your sight will return to you dazzled and exhausted

    Verse 5

We have beautified the lowest heaven with lit objects and use them as tools to stone devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blazing fire

For those who reject their Lord, there is the punishment of Hell, a miserable destination

    Verse 7

When they are thrown into it, they will hear it roaring, as it seethes

    Verse 8

It almost bursts with rage. Every time a group is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did no one come to warn you

    Verse 9

They will say, "Yes, someone came to warn us, but we did not believe in him and said, 'God has not sent down anything. You are in greatly misguided

    Verse 10

They will say, "Had we listened or reasoned, we would not have been included among the inhabitants of the Blazing fire

    Verse 11

So they will come to realize and admit their sin. Away with the inhabitants of the Blazing fire

    Verse 12

Forgiveness and great reward await those who stand in awe of their Lord although He is beyond the reach of their perception

    Verse 13

Whether you keep your thoughts to yourself, or state them openly, He knows what is within the heart

    Verse 14

Would He who created not know, when He is the Most Subtle, the Totally Aware

    Verse 15

It is He who tamed the earth for you, so travel its regions, and eat of His provision. To Him you will be resurrected

    Verse 16

Do you feel confident that He who is in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you as it spins

    Verse 17

Or are you confident that He who is in heaven would not unleash a violent storm of stones against you? Then you will know how true My warning was

    Verse 18

Those before them had already denied my warnings, and how terrible was My condemnation

    Verse 19

Have they not seen the birds above them, with wings outspread or folded in? None holds them except the Merciful-to-all. He is, The Ever Insightful

    Verse 20

Or who can be a force to protect you other than the Merciful-to-all? The unbelievers are really living in delusion

    Verse 21

Or who can provide for you if He withholds His provision? Yet they persist in their disrespect and evasion

    Verse 22

Is he who walks, stumbles and falls on his face better guided or he who walks upright on a straight path

    Verse 23

Say, "It is He who brought you into being; and gave you hearing and vision and understanding. But you are rarely grateful

    Verse 24

Say, "It is He who scattered you on earth, and to Him you will be gathered

    Verse 25

And they say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if what you say is true

    Verse 26

Say, "God alone has knowledge of this, and I am only delivering a clear warning

    Verse 27

But when they see it approaching, the unbelievers' faces will turn gloomy, and it will be said, "This is what you were calling for

    Verse 28

Say, "Just think: Should God destroy me and those with me, or if He decides to have mercy on us, who will protect the unbelievers from a painful punishment

    Verse 29

Say, "He is the Merciful-to-all; We have believed in Him, and in Him We trust. You will come to know who is in evident error

    Verse 30

Say, "Just think: if your water drains away, who will bring you pure flowing water
